From Nuneaton in the West Midlands, Emily is currently a university student going into her 3rd year of Audio and Recording Technology. This is where she learns about how music/sound is captured, and the technology used to do it. Normally when you ask a person how they got into rock they say it was a band or album. For Emily, she was raised in a household with rock playing through her dad’s hi-fi s

tereo and when her family ever traveled, rock would be the majority of what was played. With her dad being into classic rock and her mum into the heavy and modern rock, it’s no surprise that Emily’s taste in rock is so eclectic. This can be heard in her show ‘Emily’s Rock Show’, where she will play anything under the rock and metal umbrella. You might find your new favorite band/artist.

About Emily’s Rock Show

Hello, my name is Emily. This my show is dedicated to my love of rock and my mission to keep it alive. The only way to do this is to share as much rock as possible.

The show will play anything under the rock umbrella:

From classic rock such as Ac/Dc, Alice Cooper, Fleetwood Mac.

To modern rock/metal such as Black Stone Cherry, Muse, Disturbed, Halestorm, Marilyn Manson.

Even alternative/emo rock like Panic! At the disco, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, My Chemical Romance.

We even play up and coming/ bands you should know like Broken Empire, Blame The Sacred, Shadow Smile, Icon For Hire.

The show is broadcasted live on Pure Rock Radio every Sunday from 12pm – 3pm GMT (British Summer Time).

That’s 5am – 8am Mountain Daylight time or 6am – 9am CDT.

Here is a bit more about me:

I am a first-year student at De Montford University, and I joined DemonFM (which is our student radio) on a Saturdays at 6pm – 8pm. But due to COVID-19, the station closed early.

As a presenter on DemonFM, we got to choose what type of show we wanted to present. It was a no brainer, as I love rock ‘n’ roll. I wanted to share my love of rock with others. So, this show is dedicated to the genres of rock, metal and alternative and all that falls under that umbrella from Panic! at the disco to AC/DC to Motionless In White.

At the end of the year, the show and I was nominated in four categories at the DMA’s (Demon Media Awards). DemonFM’s Best Newcomer, Demon Media’s Best Marketing and Social Media, DemonFM’s Best Female Presenter and DemonFM’s Best Show. Sadly, we didn’t win. But hay we didn’t do it for the awards.

Since DemonFM is a student station, this means that closes over the summer. With this in mind, I came across a new station, Nuneaton Live Radio. Which sadly after a month closed down prenatally.
