TALOS of CRETE
The first robot in history

Talos whose name in Minoan dialect means the Sun, was a mythical bronze giant, the first robot in history that was protecting Minoan Crete from any invations in the island. Talos was created by the instruction of Zeus by Hephaustus, one of the 12 Gods of Olympus and was given as a gift from Zeus to Europe.
Talos robot had to run three times around the island of Crete in the course of a day, throwing huge rocks at any invaders from the sea, an ancient way of missile throwing. To do this had a single vein from his neck to his ankle, stoppered somewhere in his foot by a large bronze pin as its power supply. In this vein was running a fluid made of melted metal. In modern terms, that single vein could have been his main power cable and the pin his fuse as ancient Greek writer Apollodorus mentions.
Talos was the guard of Crete and King Minos was feeling safe.
It is said that after Talos was destroying the enemies of Crete was starting laughing loudly with sarcarm.
Talos was destroyed by Medeia when she came to the island with the Argonauts.
Talos for Crete and the Minoan mythology symbolises the high technological efficiency in metallourgy that the Minoans had accomlbished but also as the carrier of justice and the protector of the lands of Crete as justice in Minoan Crete was very importantand was inherited to theMinoans directly from Zeus.
