National Botanical Garden

National Botanical Garden
The flora of different parts of Ukraine is shown on the landscape and botanical sections of the garden; the collection of plants includes over ten thousand species. It was here that we managed to collect the largest collections of maple, lilac, oak, linden, walnut, birch, wild fruit plants in Eastern Europe and one of the best collections of dogwood forms in the world. In addition, the Holy Trinity Ioninsky Monastery is located on the territory of the garden, which in 1917 was the largest monastery in Kyiv after the Lavra.

Mikhailovsky Golden-Domed Cathedral
It can be called the personification of the history of all Ukraine: the cathedral building survived the Mongol-Tatar invasion, but the Soviet barbarians destroyed the shrine in the mid-1930s, having previously moved most of the ancient mosaics and frescoes to the Hermitage. In 2004, they returned from St. Petersburg to Ukraine. In addition, in the bell tower, which is part of the monastery complex, a unique bell-keyboard musical instrument called carillon, designed to perform complex melodies, has been preserved.
