The 2nd Great Green Run is a journey towards a sustainable future, and we're driving momentum forward

Last year, our debut in The Straits Times highlighted how GGR effectively spread its message of sustainability. More than just a run, it's a platform uniting individuals, corporations, and organizations committed to positive environmental impact.

The run is about catalyzing real change. Together, we believe in the collective power to create a greener, cleaner world. As we launch our second edition this year, our goal is to expand our reach and ignite sustainable passion across all communities.

Join us in taking the GGR pledge and support our commitment to the SDG goals. Together, let's make a lasting difference! Visit our website and secure your tickets for our 5km or 10km run: www.greatgreenrun.com

GGR is a sustainability-themed mass sporting event happening on October 12th at Marina Barrage. Our finisher's medal is not just an achievement but a piece of art! Handcrafted from fallen Bhutanese trees, each medal is unique and sustainably produced 100% in Bhutan, the world's first carbon-negative country.

Greenbees always advocate for sustainable efforts. Let our finisher's medal be a reminder of Bhutan's inspiring sustainability initiatives.

Reflecting on the recent oil spill in Singapore, one of the pressing questions is, "When will the affected beaches be open again?"

Fortunately, the authorities have taken swift and decisive action to contain the damage and minimize its impact, with an estimated 3-month timeline for reopening.

As we await the recovery of our beaches, we should also take a moment to acknowledge and thank the tireless efforts of the cleaning personnel who have worked diligently to mitigate the situation. Their hard work is truly commendable.

Furthermore, plans are underway to involve volunteers in the cleanup process, working alongside our cleaning personnel to relieve their burden and accelerate the reopening of our beloved beaches. Let's look forward to learning more about how we can contribute and be part of this effort.

A recent oil spill off the coast of Singapore has sparked concerns about the impact on our water supply. According to PUB, our water quality readings remain normal and no oil has been detected near the seawater intake at Jurong Island Desalination Plant, which is closest to the oil spill location.

The NEA has also been conducting daily air quality tests in affected areas since Saturday. These measures are in place to ensure the safety of the public and those involved in the clean-up operations.

Instead of jumping in, let's focus on thinking creatively about how we can contribute meaningfully. What are some ways we can make a positive impact? Share your ideas in the comments below!

Together, let's prioritize safety, effectiveness, and sustainability in our actions.

Coffee or Tea? ☕🍵 Uncovering the Climate Impact of Your Daily Cuppa

As we go about our daily routines, sipping on our favorite hot beverages, have we ever stopped to think about the environmental footprint of our coffee and tea habits? While it's widely discussed that our food choices, such as beef and lamb, have a significant impact on the climate, what about the roasted cup of coffee or tea?

Did you know that the production of coffee requires 140 liters of water per cup, while tea requires a mere 34 liters? The emissions are also higher for coffee, making it a bigger splash of climate guilt. But how can we reconcile our love for these daily rituals with the growing concerns about climate change?

As we mindfully consider the little choices we make each day, let's not forget that every decision has a ripple effect on the planet. From the type of coffee beans we choose to the method of brewing, our habits have a cumulative impact on the environment.

So, can you still answer which is your favorite - coffee or tea? Or will you be thinking twice about the environmental implications of your daily cuppa from now on? Share your thoughts and let's spark a conversation about the little things we can do to make a big difference. 🌍💬

Reflecting on the pivotal UN talks where capping plastic production was debated but not yet incorporated into the draft treaty. Time to consider the impact: reducing plastic output requires significant shifts in how we consume, design products, and deliver them. Are we prepared for a sustainable future?

Restricting how much plastic the world makes each year will be necessary to curb its harmful presence in the environment, says a University of Leeds academic.
