As I prep for my last big wedding of the summer, I’m looking back on one of my favorites, working with Meche and Evan as their wedding coordinator!

These two lovebirds had a true 🎉celebration🎉, complete with a love filled ceremony in the park, a marching band parade post-ceremony (yes I mean that), and a reception that just never wanted to shut down .

Sometimes when you’re the coordinator, you’re also the ceremony mic stand in a pinch 😂

Congratulations and ! 💗💗

Next up on the photo dump from the first half of 2022: Alyssa and John! Another opportunity I had this year to work with friends as their wedding coordinator 💗😍

When you hire me as your wedding coordinator or planner, you can expect detailed timeline and checklist planning, vendor coordination, set up and breakdown, and crisis management.

More importantly, as you can see here, you can expect me to get down on the dance floor during your reception, fix your bustle no matter how many times I’ve got to get in close proximity with your backside to do so, to boss folks around while wearing a f***y pack, and to slide into the front row of your end of the night group photo.

Love you and John!

I have absolutely booked up with weddings for the past few months and woefully neglecting sharing them with you all. In times of grief and uncertainty, and while planning exciting things to come in the near future, I’m going to start unloading my backlog of proof of officiant/planner life.

Each couple I’ve worked with this year has brought me SO much joy, starting with Max and Shilan; there’s something so sweet and special about being able to work with friends from previous chapters of my life (Shilan and I met in college) as an officiant. Max and Shilan wanted a simple and intimate ceremony that had joining rituals@for them and was respectful of their Christian and Muslim family and friends present. We made it just that!

Thanks for letting me join in your celebration in KC back in May!

Meet our Founder, main officiant, and planner/coordinator: Maria Michonski!

Maria Michonski (she/her/hers) is a homegrown, q***r, Nashville-based wedding officiant and planner. She obtained her Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2019, with an accompanying master's level certificate in Religion, Gender and Sexuality. She earned a B.A. in Theological Studies and Women's & Gender Studies from Saint Louis University in 2016. The focus of her work has been q***r ethics and the creation of alternate liturgies, rituals, and spaces for LGBTQIA+ folks alienated from formal religious communities.

Maria is ordained to officiate weddings through American Marriage Ministries. Originally ordained in 2016, Maria had her ordination renewed in person in 2019, and so can legally perform marriage ceremonies in all 50 states within the United States (including, most importantly, the state of Tennessee, where Pride of Place Weddings is based). She has been planning and coordinating events, including weddings, professionally and personally for the past 5 years.

"Whether I officiate your wedding or plan every single detail of the day, from preparations to ceremony to party, I cannot wait to get to know you and your story, and work with you to plan what will undoubtedly be one of the most important days of your lives together!"

Remember that we are running a $150 special on social distancing wedding ceremonies and elopements at this time, and that we offer by-the-hour rates that would be perfect for assistance in rescheduling, postponing, or downsizing your wedding! Contact us today for more info.

A global pandemic changes things. If you are in the middle of rearranging wedding plans due to COVID-19 and need: an officiant for an elopement or altered small, social distancing ceremony; an LGBTQIA+ person worried about having legal protections through marriage for making medical decisions together with and for your partner should they fall ill at this time; rescheduling a wedding, swimming in mountains of phone calls and rearrangements, and need some extra help in a planning or coordinating capacity—we’ve got you covered! Email us today at [email protected] or DM us to y’all through what you need and how we can help! We are now offering elopement officiating for $150, and are happy to discuss sliding scale if you need it.
