A sweet couple, Lauren Abdella and Garrett Maiden, were honored and celebrated today by family and friends with a wedding shower on Rooster’s Ridge. A brunch buffet offering muffins, homemade bread, fresh fruit, strawberry salad, quiche, jams/jellies, creamy spreads and mimosas was enjoyed by all...guests were then treated to a flower bar where each attendee selected their choice of flowers for a sweet take home bouquet. We wish to congratulate Lauren and Garrett wish them much love and happiness forever and a day!

Aug 10, 2024, Jeffers Family Reunion held on Rooster’s Ridge, Athens,
Ohio

Reunions are a family legacy of love…annually, family members (having marked their calendars from the year before) gather, out of deep love and respect for their elders, to catch up on family affairs, enjoy the food, with a cold drink, sit back, relax and chat about anything and everything…the Jeffers’ Family did this Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the Bobcat Bed and breakfast on Rooster’s Ridge…from oldest, Dale (92) to youngest, wee Olivia (a few months old) everyone had a great time! Birthdays were celebrated, there was the birth of a baby bull calf..(appropriately named Rocky Jeffers) and we cannot leave out snackin with the Summer Cow Campers. 🤣🐄 We are already looking forward to next year! Thank you for visiting with us and including us in your family celebrations!

We celebrated the Alexander High School Class of 1989 on Rooster’s Ridge this weekend. So nice to see everyone and catch up! Years of reminiscing, loads of laughter topped off with a great food buffet made for a fun filled evening!

The Bobcat Bed & Breakfast on Rooster's Ridge was honored once again in hosting the annual awards banquet for the Youth On Target
group. This group works tirelessly in raising funds and supporting youth in Meigs and Athens County. This year, five $1,000.00 scholarships were awarded to senior graduates attending college this Fall…additionally, each participating school received a generous financial gift toward supporting their respective group. Congratulations scholarship recipients and thank you Youth on Target!

Spartan Pride was in full color this weekend on Rooster’s Ridge, when the Alexander Class of 1974 celebrated their 50th class reunion…Alexander graduates of classes from the same era were also welcomed…❤️🤍🖤 So many great memories, reminiscing, perusing yearbooks and pictures…hugs and lots of laughter filled the air…some traveled from afar (California, Florida and Texas)…others a bit “closer to home.” Weekend festivities were topped off with the arrival of the World Famous Burrito Buggy! Thank you Class of 1974…extra special thanks to Dave, Teresa and Betty for their hard work in organizing and planning this wonderful event…lastly, special recognition is extended to Mrs. Sally Ball, a retired Alexander teacher and a long time defender and supporter of Alexander Schools. ❤️🤍

Our final 2024 high school graduation celebration was held yesterday on Rooster’s Ridge…Hannah and Lexi have been “besties” since elementary school…family and friends gathered to celebrate their many high school successes and accomplishments as they are both exemplary students.
Guests enjoyed a taco bar buffet, delicious desserts, and drinks…a balloon arch, fun photos, and a co****le competition made for a fun time! Hannah and Lexi will be furthering their education as Bobcats, attending Ohio University! We wish them continued success in all future endeavors! Their future looks extremely bright!💚🐾💚

A bright young man graduated from Ohio University this past Saturday…Sunday, family and friends gathered at Bobcat Bed & Breakfast on Rooster's Ridge to acknowledge and celebrate his accomplishments…mom’s deviled eggs and a super taco bar, cupcakes (baked by a dear aunt), fruit n veggies, chips n sips…add a sprinkle of Bobcat green and you have perfection! We had the best time this past weekend on Rooster’s Ridge with the cutest couple, their family, friends and a few wedding crashers in the pasture…the plan was to hold the ceremony and reception outside…the wind, however, had other plans…so we quickly shifted things inside… their “best day ever” went off without a hitch. We are closing in on another year here on Rooster’s Ridge…we have so many blessings to be thankful for…from planting flowers, a garden and crops in the field to mowing grass, w**d eating and those lovely fat bovines grazing in the pasture to so many happy and joyful celebrations…weddings, birthday parties, and those welcoming sweet wee babies, holiday gatherings, painting, crafting and more…add to that…our BNB visitors are awesome-they arrive as total strangers and leave us with lifelong friendships…and then there is this…the Friends of Rooster’s Ridge Community Kindness Project has come to fruition...❤️🙏 unfortunately, we have experienced sadness and heartbreak…this is especially hard when Christmas comes during difficult times… sometimes, the holidays remind us of only of what we have lost…to our family and friends, whether you are coping with illness, bereavement, loss of job or other challenges…please know that you are not alone…each of you hold a special place in our hearts…we pray the holidays bring you peace, hope and a new year of better days.

These awesome-wonderful folks provide access to affordable, quality, integrated health care in our community on a daily basis. Today, Friday, December 16, 2022, marks six years since you left us on your walk up the road toward Heaven…when I think of you, I hope Heaven has a barn, green grass, fat cows, a garden and hoe; I hope Heaven has an old farm house, a kitchen with a gas stove, pots n pans and a window…I hope Heaven has a porch with chairs where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, watch the cows in the pasture and look forward to visits from family and friends. Your family and these very simple, plain yet glorious “things” were your joy and Heaven here on Earth.…we all miss you…we are all doing fine and your beloved farm and home are being taken care of…fences are maintained, crops planted and harvested and fat cattle graze in the pastures…additionally, we have visitors who enjoy your home… and others who love celebrating family gatherings, birthdays, weddings etc. in the old barn…as you are the ONE…the only ONE… the BEST Grandma Rooster to your only great grandson C**t, (he is a fine young man and now in 8th grade…) in your honor and memory, the Bobcat Bed and Breakfast on Rooster’s Ridge came to be. You left us with big shoes to fill…but we try every day to honor your legacy by your example of “always being humble and kind.” Love and miss you “R.” ❤️🙏

The barn on Rooster’s Ridge was alive last evening with many talented and gifted crafters last evening…manning their glue guns, paint brushes, a bit of glitz, colorful ribbons and bows the creativity was endless…wreaths, snowman and gum ball ornaments, flower pot gnomes, cinnamon-applesauce gnomes, pine cone Angels, a stunning portrait of Santa’s Reindeer, ripped rag Christmas trees and more…great fun seeing and visiting with everyone! A pot of warm creamy mashed potatoes, toppings of chili, cheese, creamy chicken n veggies and sour cream, cookies, Chex Mix, cheesy garlic biscuits, chocolate yummies, a secret hot chocolate recipe, a little Sangria sippins ALL made for a fun filled evening…my sincere thanks to everyone for coming out!!!…you have kick started the Rooster’s Ridge Kindness Project…because of each of you, we are off to a great start in giving back to our community. ❤️ Love n Blessings to all! ❤️🙏🏻
