A fun little mini game/ role-playing I like to do is to have contest taking place in whatever Tavern or Inn your players find themselves in. Whether it be Arm Wrestling, Pie Eating, Darts, Throwing Knives or my personal favorite the Iron Stomach Contest.
In this contest there's usually a grand prize of X amount of gold or some type of magic item. All participants sit down at a table and take turns taking a sip of a strange potion. Have the player's roll a Constitution Save DC 20, on a fail they roll on the wild magic surge table. 2 failures and they're out. Last character standing gets the prize!

Why We Play D&D Episode 1
In the first episode of Why We Play D&D Patrick Stephens talks about his history with the Dungoens & Dragons and why he started Guild of Imagination.
Here's how a boy that used to spend hours making up stories grew up to be a DM.
When I was young I'd sit in my room and make up stories for hours at a time with my wrestling toys, Masters of the Universe action figures, troll dolls and more. I'd make up hunts and quests with my sister's Tales of the Crystals board game (look it up).
As I got older I started playing Magic: The Gathering when it came out and through that I learned about D&D. I was talking to the counselor at my school and I had brought my Magic cards with me. She proceeded to tell me to be careful because it looked a lot like a game from the 80's that had satanic rituals called Dungeons & Dragons. So I of course went home that day and started asking everyone in my family if they had heard about Dungeons & Dragons.
Turns out they had. My Uncle Chris had played it in the 70's and 80's. I called him up and said I could still get it! At the bookstore. So off to the book store I went and I bought my first D&D book, the second edition Monstrous Manual.
I had no idea how to play (I tried reading the rules but still - no clue). But I started spending hours in my room pouring over the Monstrous Manual. Reading all of the monster lore and trying to figure out what the stat blocks meant.
Shortly after my Uncle Chris was finally visiting. I asked him question after question. He brought me to the store and we bought notebooks, graph paper, index cards, and index card holder, pencils and he gave me some dice! (They were hard to find back then).
He showed me how to draw a dungeon and to make magic items. He showed me how to make a character and write a story. I was hooked!
Now, back up a little bit and my Aunt Honey, she was forever thinking about new business ideas, talking to me about ice cream and hot dog trucks, coming up with idea after idea. She did some herself, but I don't think anything hit. Well that definitely sparked an entrepreneurial core in me.
Years later after never really having played D&D,
