(Not the best photo - apologies. Fluorescent lighting in a kitchen can be brutal!)
The events industry is one that I have been lucky enough to be part of for a very long time, I still love it and being immersed in large, complex, back to back events which had a global reach was a privilege, it was fun and it reinforced just how much it's still the industry for me.
To receive the following email from our catering partners along with the phenomenal feedback from the yacht owners and crews has been the cherry on the top of the yummiest of cakes.
I hope you have recovered from the wonderful 8m World Cup Championships held at The Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club.
I wanted to congratulate you on co-ordinating and orchestrating an outstanding week long event - communication with you in the 6 month run up to the event was excellent and your natural instinct to pull all the relevant suppliers together to work as a team and support each other was first class.
During the event itself, you worked closely with us to ensure that details were as should be and to help us manage some exceedingly challenging situations weather wise. Your communication style is straightforward and supportive, your attention to detail excellent and your creative eye delivered a world class event that we were very proud to be a part of .

It is just the nature of events that there is always last minute changes.
It is so important to choose a caterer who has the experience, flexibility, attitude and willingness to work with the event manager to always exceed the expectations of the client.
Glad Rags Events are fortunate to work in partnership with many wonderful suppliers.
For the 8m World Cup it has been Lazy Sunday Catering
It’s the first time we have worked together. It has been 9 months in the planning, 100’s of emails pre event and long hours on site to deliver, but boy have we delivered.
We are on day 5 of 7.
Sunday 140 covers,
The sailors leaving their welcome reception (10 mins drive) at 7pm. Arriving at the sailing club at all different times, all eating by 7.41pm
Monday 100 sailing suppers
Tuesday 166 seafood extravaganza. In a marquee during the tail end of a hurricane
Wednesday 120 hungry sailors in 1 hour before their whisky tasting and Highland Games
Thursday 54 fine dinning for the yacht owners and VIP guests

Saturday Scottish Magical Evening 3 course dinner in the marquee for 214
Tonight’s job now that all the owners are enjoying their meal is to work out the seating plan for 214.
Life in events is so not glam, like many people think, it is long hours, hard work but it is a world that I still love. I get the chance to meet interesting people and work with fabulous suppliers.

Posted • Day 3 was marked by fierce winds that pushed boats and crews to their limits, resulting in several dramatic retirements. Despite the chaos, Yequem II claimed victory, with Carron II and Falcon following in second and third, while the fleet prepares for a night of highland games and whisky.

Monday Day 1 of Racing • The Worlds have begun in Scotland, with a typically wild forecast of 8 knots gusting to 36 and possible rain —anything could happen.
Yquem and Spirit led the first race, with Anne Sophie shining in the Neptune class. The second race was a battle with unpredictable gusts, but Yquem and Spirit stayed on top. Tomorrow’s forecast? Take a jacket!

Civic Reception for 180, in the stunning Helensbourgh Lonmond Civic Centre. This historic building started life as a school.
The yachts owners, crews, race committee, judges, volunteers, sponsors and VIP’s enjoyed a relaxed few hours catching up with old friends and making new friends.
There is something very special with an international event. The mixing of languages, cultures, nationalities but yet still the echoing sound of laughter and fun.

Having been working on this event since December it is just fabulous to see these majestic, beautiful boats here on the Clyde.
Practice race tomorrow followed by a welcome drinks reception in the Helensburgh Lomond Civic Centre.
Then a relaxed sailing supper back at the Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club.

Since November Glad Rags Events have been assisting with this fantastic event. We are responsible for managing all elements of the land based activities during the 8 day regatta. An international field of 8 m Yachts are on their way to the Clyde in Scotland for this prestigious event which last year was held in Genoa the year before Geneva.
Five days of sailing are complemented by a magnificent Social Programme, for the owners, crew, Sponsors, VIP Guests, friends and family.

Games for a lovely couple, bride originally local to Aberdeen now down south with her husband to be, guests coming together for their exclusive use time at Drumtochty. One even coming all the way from Perth Australia for the occasion.

Can not beat the sounds of a Scottish Pipe Band
These beautiful classic ladies have no engines so need to be assisted by ribs in and out of the marina. We have a fabulous group of volunteers and Race Committee running the event “water side”. I am not a sailor, as some of you know my favourite place is in the water swimming with the fishes.
