Creating Your Reality
In early 2019, a few months after my Dad passed away, a friend invited me to a Vision Board class. It was exactly what I needed at that time. I was still emotionally drained from the past two years when we discovered my Mom had stage 4 cancer. After she passed away, only 10 months before my Dad, I was dealing with family issues in a zombie-like state and felt completely lost. I wasn’t ready to go back to work yet. I needed time to myself to reflect. My Vision Board was beautiful! I loved looking at it. It gave me hope and a purpose. It became a constant reminder to keep moving forward towards my dreams.
By summer, a friend asked me to facilitate a Vision Board workshop since I spoke so highly about it. I was reluctant as it never occurred to me to do this. It certainly wasn’t on my vision board to teach anything. As I did one, I got another request for another, then another. To my surprise, I realized that I enjoyed helping people with setting goals and creating their ideal life. My workshops are interactive. I hand out notebooks so we can journal our gratitudes. Leading with a guided meditation, we share stories, talk about our dreams, write intentions, and then we create a beautiful vision board of what it is we want. I tell everyone that it’s a work in progress. To make it a reality, you have to do the work. A goal is only a wish unless you take action. Only you can create the reality you want.
