BREAKING NEWS: Mga Alumni ng PMA, Nanawagan Laban sa Lantarang Korapsyon sa Pamahalaan

Sa isang pagpupulong ng ‘The Agenda’ news forum, mariing ipinahayag ng Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. (PMAAAI) ang kanilang pagtutol sa lumalalang isyu ng korapsyon sa bansa.

Ayon kay Retired General Raul Gonzales ng PMA Makabayan Class ’75, na siya ring Chairman ng PMAAAI, matagal nang nanahimik ang mga retiradong opisyal, ngunit hindi na raw nila kayang ipikit ang mata sa mga nagaganap na katiwalian.

“Bulgar na ngayon at talagang open ang pangungurakot ng mga taga-gobyerno,” ani Gonzales. Dagdag pa niya, “It’s time for us, we have to go against corruption.”

Nahaharap ang administrasyon ni Marcos Jr. at ang House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa mga kontrobersiya at alegasyon ukol sa korapsyon. Matatandaang nitong Nobyembre 2024, nagbitiw ng maaanghang na salita si VP Sara Duterte laban kina Marcos Jr., Liza Araneta, at Martin Romualdez, na tinawag niyang mga “sinungaling” at “magnanakaw”.

Kamakailan, lumitaw ang isang kontrobersiya hinggil sa pagkakaroon ng mga ‘blank’ o walang laman na bahagi sa bicameral conference committee report para sa 2025 national budget na ayon kay Rep. Isidro Ungab, dating chairman ng House Appropriations Committee, may mga alokasyon sa badyet, partikular sa Department of Agriculture at unprogrammed appropriations, na walang nakasaad na halaga, na umaabot sa bilyun-bilyong piso.

Kinumpirma rin ng ilang mambabatas tulad nina Sen. Imee Marcos, Sen. “Bato” dela Rosa, na may mga blangkong item nga sa bicam report, na kinumpirma rin naman ni Rep. Stella Quimbo.

Mariing itinanggi naman ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang mga alegasyon, sinasabing walang blangkong bahagi sa 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA) na nagdulot ng kalituhan sa publiko sapagkat ang kinukwestiyon mga blangkong bahagi ay nasa bicam report.

Gayunpaman, binigyang-diin ni Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez na ang pagkakaroon ng mga blangkong item sa bicam report ay maituturing na krimen.

Naghain na rin ng petisyon sa Korte Suprema sina Cong. Ungab at Atty. Vic Rodriguez laban sa 2025 Budget na umano’y “BIGGEST MONEY HEIST”.

Open letter to Speaker of the House of Representatives Congressman Martin Romualdez

Dear Speaker Romualdez,

We, the undersigned AFP and PNP retired officers, UP Vanguards, and concerned Filipino citizens and taxpayers, demand that you immediately resign as Congressman of the First District of Leyte and Speaker of the House of Representatives because of the following reasons:

1. With ₱15.589 trillion national government debt as of August 2024, you do not care at all if the Philippine government would become bankrupt, sooner or later, because you have recommended a ₱6.352 trillion budget for 2025 against a 2025 projected supportable national revenue of ₱4.64 trillion according to Finance Secretary Rafael Recto, or a deficit of ₱1.712 trillion.

2. You squandered ₱26.7 billion from the AKAP of DSWD on a fake People’s Initiative to unnecessarily change the Philippine Constitution.

3. You failed to safeguard our taxes against corruption that eats about 20% of our annual budget. Briefly, the 2025 national budget would be less than the 2024 national budget if there were no corruption in the government. Furthermore, there is no attempt on your part to remove the label of Congress as “The Philippines’ biggest criminal syndicate,” according to BizNews Asia.

4. Aside from a report of your multi-million dollar donation to Harvard University, there are reports of your alleged buying spree here and abroad including a 20% ownership of EEI costing ₱1.25 billion.

Under your leadership in the House of Representatives, you have been spending the taxpayers’ money (paid by our blood, sweat, and tears), as if you owned the Philippine government.
Based on the foregoing observations, we want you out of the House of Representatives. NOW!

Every move he makes is designed to eliminate rivals, consolidate power, and position himself as the ultimate political force. Marcos Jr. and Abalos are mere pawns in Romualdez’s grand plan. The real threat to Philippine democracy is not just corruption—it is the unchecked ambition of a man who will stop at nothing to secure the highest office in the land.
The time for complacency is over. Filipinos must direct their anger and outrage at the true mastermind of this political crisis. Speaker Martin Romualdez is the real monster lurking in the shadows, pulling the strings and orchestrating the chaos that threatens to tear the nation apart.
