Discover The Secret Of Seseblades
Hi,
I’m Dr. Arvin Sese.
Founder and creator of Seseblades gear.
I’ve made hundreds and hundreds of survival gear which include bladed implements like knives and machetes.
Quite a number have reached countries such as the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand.
One question I sometimes get asked is, “Why do you use horns for the handles of your implements?”
Some think it’s ornamental.
A few would say it’s a design that I just thought of.
But there’s a practical reason for that.
However, firstly, I want to tell you I’m a REAL DOCTOR.
I didn’t get this title from a weekend course or from an online thing.
As a doctor, I join a lot of medical missions to pay it forward.
In one of these, I was sent to visit an indigenous tribe.
The members of this group still knew how our ancestors lived.
They live everyday in nature and know how to survive and thrive in that environment.
I befriended them and were so happy of the service we gave them.
In return, they started sharing their survival skills.
Skills like preparing food, starting fire or setting up a shelter.
One of the “secrets” of survival they taught me is how to stop bleeding in an emergency.
Let me share with you something that might save your life.
You can get shavings from a horn and use it on your wound.
That would control your bleeding!
Which is the reason why I use carabao/cow horns on my handles.
In an emergency, these can be critical.
I will be sharing more of what I learned from the tribe in the near future.
Going back to my blades, like the horn handles, there are reasons for the design of each.
I didn’t make them because I feel like it.
I’ve been using and testing equipment in my bushcrafting for over
three decades.
Testing all the time what works, what doesn’t, what should be discarded and what should be modified.
Everything in a Seseblade tool has a reason.
