Terms of Service
Hello! Thank you for considering Rabbit Wares as your fursuit maker! I know this is an exciting prospect, wether its your first suit or your fifth, getting a new suit is always a good feeling! Before you go any further, please thoroughly read these Terms of Service to ensure everything goes as planned!
Getting a Quote
If you would like to get a suit from me, you will first need to get a quote! Getting a quote is not the same as getting a commission spot, a quote is simply me telling you how much your suit will cost so you can decide if you want a suit from me and if it’s in your budget!
To get a quote, simply contact me to discuss pricing and details. If you want quotes for multiple characters I can do so!
Be sure to tell me what type of suit you want and everything you want on your suit (indoor feet, moving jaw, specialty furs, etc) prices vary depending on exactly what type of suit you're looking for so please be as detailed as possible, I can't make your dream suit if you don't tell me what you want!
I will need a 3-view reference sheet (front, back, and left/right side) that clearly shows all markings and details on your character. If your character has asymmetrical markings I will need a 4-view reference sheet to ensure accuracy. If your reference sheet is missing something or has extra parts you don't want, I cannot use it, you need a reference sheet that shows all markings, limbs, and details you want present on your suit and nothing you don’t.
If there are certain materials you want me to use (like a specific fur fabric) then you need to tell me before I give you a quote. Different fabrics and materials vary in price and the cost of the material you want me to use can affect the final price of your suit. Also please be sure you know what fabric you are actually talking about before asking me to use it, I've had multiple people tell me they want minky when they meant beaver fur, or felt when they meant fleece. Different fabrics have different textures, prices, and workability so please be sure you know which fabrics you are referring to when asking me to use them on your suit!
Do not ask me to do another maker’s style on your suit. This is incredibly disrespectful to both me and the other maker. If you want a suit done in another maker’s style, then go commission them!
Once I give you a quote that quote is good for 6 months. My prices and types of suits may change over time so if you asked for a quote and 6 months have passed since then, you will need to get a new quote. Please do not contact me for a quote if you are not looking to purchase a suit for several months or longer.
Once you have a quote, you can decide if you want a suit from me and if you can fit it into your budget. If you decide you do not want a suit or it is currently out of your budget, that is totally fine! If you do want a suit and can afford it, then please proceed to the next section about how to get a suit.
How to Get a Suit
In order to get a suit from me, you will need to get a commission spot. After I finish all the suits in my queue, I open up for a few more commision spots. Keep an eye out on my social media to see when these open!
Once I announce my commissions are open and you have ready gotten a quote and are ready to get started, send me a message! Please have at least 30% of the total cost of your suit ready when you fill out the application. I can only choose a few suits at a time, and I will pass over you if someone else has the payment ready and you don’t. The 30% payment is your down payment for the suit and that secures you a spot on my list as well as covering the materials cost for your suit, this payment in non-refunable under any circumstances so be sure you want this suit and are ready to commission me.
After I fill up all my spots, I close commission applications and choose the few suits I will be working on. A variety of factors influence which suits I choose; the species, the design, what type of suit it is, etc. if you are not chosen then please don’t worry! You can always apply again next time I open commissions! Sometimes I just have too many amazing suits to pick from and I can’t do them all at once so some will have to wait until next time.
If I choose to make your suit, and you are ready to begin, then we will proceed onto the next step of discussing payment!
Payments and Shipping Charges
Once you have a commision spot, we can start arranging payment if you're ready! While I do prefer full payment upfront, I can accommodate payment plans.
For payment plans, I require a 30% down payment. This payment covers materials cost and secures you a spot on my list. This payment is NON-REFUNDABLE, so be sure you want this suit and it is within your budget! The remaining 70% can be made off in payments. We can arrange a payment plan that fits with your schedule but please keep in mind I may deny certain
plans if they do not work with my schedule. A few larger payments is always preferred over multiple smaller payments.
Estimated completion times for each type of suit are listed below, you must finish paying off your suit before I begin working on it!
Heads: 2 to 5 months
Partials: 2 to 5 months
Halfsuits and ⅔ Suits: 2 to 5 months
Fullsuits: 2 to 5 months
Clients who have paid off their suits will always have their suits finished before clients who have not finished paying off their suit.
Please note that estimated time frames are for when you’re on top of my list (when I begin work on your suit) your actual wait time to receive your suit may be longer (3 to 9 months) depending on where you’re at on my list and how close you are to finishing payments on your suit.
Do NOT order a fursuit if you cannot afford it!!! Fursuits are a luxury item, if you have to choose between buying a fursuit and paying your bills, you should not be buying a fursuit. I will do my best to be accommodating to your budget if something unexpected comes up but if you cannot finish your fursuit payments within a timely manner I will drop your commission. I make fursuits for a living so I cannot afford to wait several months between payments.
If at any time you wish to cancel your suit, a refund will be calculated based on the amount of time and materials that has gone into your suit. The 30% down payment is non-refundable under any circumstances. If you choose to cancel, you will not be able to purchase a suit from me in the future. Any finished or unfinished suit parts will have their design changed and will be sold as premade suits.
You are responsible for the cost of shipping, it is NOT included in the cost of the suit! Shipping rates vary depending on where you live and how large or heavy your suit is, so I cannot give accurate prices on shipping until your suit is finished and boxed. Keep in mind that shipping a suit in the United States can sometimes cost $100 or more, so be sure to factor shipping costs into your budget when suit shopping. When it is time to ship your suit, I will get an exact price from the post office and send that price to you. I will NOT ship out your suit until all payments have been completed.
I am NOT responsible for any damages caused by the shipping service, so be sure to pay for insurance on your package! I normally use USPS because it is the cheapest option and closest to me, if you would like me to use another service like FedEx or UPS I will charge a transportation fee on top of the shipping charges because the closest FedEx and UPS facilities are 60 miles from where I live.
While Your Suit is Being Made
If you are not at the top of my list when I start another commision batch (clients who have paid off their suit are on top of the list) then please do not expect a ton of communication from me. When I am working on someone’s suit, they are my top priority and most of my attention will be focused on them and their suit. Likewise, when it is your turn most of my attention will be focused on you and your suit and no one else's. So please do not be upset if I am not chatty or slow to reply while working on someone else’s suit. I will let you know when their suit is finished and I am ready to make your suit.
Before I start on your suit, I will need a few things from you:
Several head measurements (I will show you how and where to measure)
A duct-tape-dummy (there is a great video tutorial on how I like my DTD’s here: https://youtu.be/qClXNQifwCQ) I can work with detailed measurements but it is a $150 fee because it is harder and takes longer.
A hand tracing (I will show how to lay your fingers out for the tracing depending on what type of handpaws you're getting)
Your shoe size
If you cannot provide one or more of these things we may be able to work something out but it may add onto the cost of your suit.
While I am making your suit you can expect many work-in-progress photos and updates. If you want the suit to be a surprise and do not want photos I can do that as well. For each suit I make, I make a Trello board where you can view progress on your suit. I will check off certain parts as I complete them so you can always look there if you’re curious about how your suit is coming along but don’t feel like messaging me for constant updates. I will message you with large updates (base completed, pattern finished, eyes are done, etc) but please do not expect me to send you an update for every little thing (tongue was finished, claws were added, etc) as this becomes incredibly tiring and takes time away from actually working on your suit.
Please try to be available to talk at least once every few days, completion time may be delayed if I cannot get a hold of you to discuss details about your suit as I work on it.
Your Suit
Once your suit gets to you, you are responsible for any damages that happen to it. If your suit gets to you and something is wrong, please contact me as soon as possible so we can resolve the issue! I will happily fix any issues caused by my error.
All suits made by me come with a lifetime warranty, I will gladly repair any damages caused by normal wear and tear on the suit (popped seams, touch-ups, etc) for free, you only need to pay for shipping to and from me.
I will charge for extreme damages, damage caused by reckless care with the suit, or damages caused by tampering with the suit. Do not allow anyone else to wear or modify your suit unless you're willing to assume liability and pay for any damages they caused to your suit. Your suit was custom made to fit you, and it could be damaged if worn by someone else. Price for repair varies depending on the extremity of the damage, the price of materials needed to repair the damage, and the amount of time I will need to invest into repairing those damages.
Take care of your suit! I will charge full price for a new suit if yours is damaged beyond repair or lost/stolen.
I am not responsible for any harm you encounter while wearing your fursuit. Be careful! Take off your suit and cool down if you are overheating, be aware of your surroundings while in suit so you don't trip or stumble into something, and always have a friend nearby to help if something goes wrong! If you injure yourself while suiting, I will not make you a new suit when the
paramedics cut it off nor will I pay for your medical bills! Fursuits are fun and adorable but they are also hot and have limited vision, know your limits and always prioritize your health and safety over your suit.
I have the right to use any photos I have taken of your suit in my portfolio as examples of my work.
By sending me any form of payment, you automatically agree to these terms. These terms are liable to change over time and you must agree to them to get a suit from me.
Thank you for considering Rabbit Wares for your next suit and I sincerely hope we can do business together!
