The Knee Bender, a classic😂

I stopped sharing ceremony scripts with couples maybe back in 2018 or 2019 for two BIG reasons:

1️⃣ It helped couples be insanely present during their ceremony (since they didn’t know what I was going to say)

and

2️⃣ It led to these hilarious, authentic response to the stories I was telling

My preference is a couple shows up and gets to EXPERIENCE getting married, they’re not bogged down by details or cues or thinking through moments in the script. They’re just FULLY present as they marry their best friend, and to me, that’s the BEST way to get married✌🏼

I’ve always found couples origin stories to be hilarious, and I love nothing more than telling guests about that humble, often awkward first meeting led us to this moment🙌🏼

I’ve been creating IG content to showcase the top tier custom suits they create so my suit wearing friends can look (and feel) their best. Looking awesome shouldn’t be complicated - go see the pros at one of their locations to get fitted (and tell them I sent you!).

Honestly, a bit hard to believe she didn’t know right away, I mean there was Gabe, laying on the her friends living room floor a drink or two later, belting out Coldplay’s “Fix You,” buuut she came around😂

Our team of officiants keeps growing, and that means 2 very important things:

1. More couples than ever are going to get better, more engaging and meaningful ceremonies

and

2. More homes are going to be funded and built in Guatemala✌🏼

To see this realized makes me so, so happy 🥹 Putting these pieces together was a 14+ year journey of figuring out, refining, and focussing on a very specific goal, and I’m living in what I hope are just the beginning stages of this mission.

Thank you to the wonderful officiants who put their trust in TC, to the couples who trust us to deliver a great ceremony, and to all of you for supporting this work and cheering me on🤍

“Do the Work”
 It’s not only one of my favourite books, it’s the most practical advice I remind myself of often (especially when I was training for this fun shoot).  Whenever I see someone further down the road, I’ve come to learn it wasn’t some hack that got them there. It wasn’t a lucky break, or a single viral video that set them on that path. And most of all, there definitely isn’t some unique set of circumstances in MY life preventing me from achieving similar goals. 
They DID THE WORK. Put in the time. Mastered their craft. And did it consistently for a long period of time.

And you can too.  As I get (slightly) older I’m learning firsthand that life’s too short to pursue every opportunity or idea I have, so instead, I’ve been choosing one or two things and working as hard as I possibly can on them to see what happens (Peterson). Getting into shape that I’m proud of for these photos proved to myself what that kind of focus can accomplish over time💪🏼
 What’s one or two things you’re working on? How can I encourage or support you?

We all need people in our corner rooting for us and cheering us on, happy to be one of them for you!

I do my best to create moments like this for EVERY couple so they can look back in 10, 20, or even 50 years from now and say, “getting married was the BEST day of our lives”🥹

The very first time we met, they told me they were worried they’d be nervous to be in so many photos, maybe even slightly awkward.

Well after seeing these photos I just have one question:

Growth Hack for Wedding Vendors🔥(and it’s 🆓!)

Hooked you there, didn’t I?😂 But I promise I’ll deliver.

I get asked a variation of that question often, “how to grow faster” often so I think I’ll drop some of these answers over the next little bit.

Here’s the first one:

“Be kind and encouraging of other wedding vendors, not just because it’s the right thing to do (it is), but there’s a welcome added bonus: people generally refer the people they like.”

➡️ Tell the musicians they did a great job, complement the photographer after they post some images, say hi to everyone when you arrive ago a wedding, offer to help in any way, create content and tag the whole vendor team so they can all share it, message people randomly to check in, remind the venue staff they’re awesome👏🏼

Don’t force it, mean it.

It costs nothing, but can give a huge confidence boost to a solopreneur working their butt off, especially this late in the season.

I speak a lot about being THANKFUL for this work we get to do, and I mean it.
