✨ Today marks 11 years since mine and my husband’s first date ✨ OR as my husband would call it: “one of your made up / fake anniversaries” 🫣😂

Fun fact(s):
- We first connected on Tinder.
- We tried to meet up once and it didn’t work out (he got lost and I was mad, but now that I’m married to him it all makes sense why this happened 😂).
- 8 months later we messaged again and agreed to go on a date to an LA Kings hockey game at STAPLES Center.

Last week our team planned a Celebration of Life reception with one of the prettiest views of LA we’ve ever seen. We had the clearest view of the Southern California coast and it felt like a peaceful dream in the clouds.

I spent the time learning a little bit about the person who passed. He was a worked renowned eye doctor, educator, and humanitarian who across their life mentored countless in the field, invented tools that are still used across ophthalmology today, helped over 10,000 people in underserved countries regain their vision during 35 mission trips, and launched programs that taught people in underserved countries how to read, write, and survive. I was in awe of all of his selflessness and accomplishments over the span of their life, thinking if over my lifetime I could positively impact the lives of even a fraction of the people he’s helped - I would die happy.

Naturally, all of this combined initiated a reflection time for me to think about how rapid this year has gone by. While extremely proud and thankful for how much we’ve grown, I also grieved all the things I had to sacrifice to get here, and the things I’ll have to change next year to optimize.

I don’t know where I planned to go with this post and it’s a bit all over the place, but I had to share this view from our recent event.

Even on the most difficult days and navigating the trickiest situations, I’m grateful to wake up everyday and choose to produce events the way I do for all of you who continue to support this dream.
