Free Nowadays, noise surrounds us. Stillness. Balance is important.

From the always rushing cars, the bicycles proving their point to the gassed city to the bubble tea-slurping pedestrian, strolling around with a shopping bag in the hand. To notice the moments in between, little intermissions before the loudness comes flooding back in. Stillness is a conversation held face to face on a bench next to a busy road, clinging on to each other's words and forgetting the

world around you. Stillness is leaving the club at 6 a.m. to be greeted by the tweeting of birds starting their day. Stillness is having to wait for your tram for an extra 7 minutes due to unexplained delays. The vividness of the city shines through in these moments of rest it demands. During the pandemic, loudness was swapped out with silence. The bustling of the city became a whisper, which gave a lot of rest to a lot of us, but as it continued leaving us feel more and more stranded and restless. Silence is not stillness. Silence is not a welcome interlude, but an all-encompassing absence. The time has come to end the silence and rediscover the joys of stillness. Find balance again now the city awakes and the rush with it as well. Drop by on the last Sunday of every month to listen to a variety of slow gems, handpicked to start your day off right and sees your sunday. Bring friends or come by yourself, either way, you won't feel alone. We waited too long to be back together to feel alone. Allow us to guide you to the many beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces Brussels have to offer, all for free. And while you're here, why not treat yourself to a well-deserved brunch to celebrate crawling out of bed early after a night of deep sleep or heavy dancing.

Matinée started as a cozy space for listening, relaxing, and connecting, after almost three years it has grown into a thriving concept. While we love the vibrant energy of our Sundays together, we also cherish the calm, intimate listening moments that make Matinée so special.

We notice that the aspects of rest and listening, which we highly value, tend to get overshadowed. To address this, we are expanding Matinée with events that have a strong focus on listening, under the name 𝘀𝘀𝗵𝘁. Come and discover new sounds in places yet to be. We will continue our classical Matinées on Sunday while also exploring how to refine your listening experience.

We're halfway through Staminée, this ambitious project that doesn't feel so crazy with the warm support of all of you passing by. We are used to changing locations, but this time the magic lies within the comfort of staying. After our li’l Tour de Flandres we are back in our beloved city Brussels, the place where we feel most at home.

And guess what, we are opening a low-key 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘧é for 4 Sundays in a row in Reset Atelier. This old office floor right next to the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula has loads of ateliers in the back and a beautiful open space in front. You are so very welcome in 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻é𝗲 where the mood will be mellow, the music laid back, and the only thing you have to do is eat some of our Mom’s Spaghetti and drink an Irish coffee while you get attuned to the slowest Sunday you had in a long time.

With its big pillars, huge windows, lots of corners and crisp white walls, the space is ideal for exhibiting visual art. The work of the resident artists of Reset Atelier are also on show, but there is always room for more. The more, the merrier, so let’s make a cute art-bar from this one.

Our imaginary tour bus still has a stop planned in our favourite place in Antwerp, 𝗛𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝘀. 🌳

We’ll kick off the day with sweet morning tunes in the 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐫. If you climb some stairs, you’ll find the 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐮𝐤𝐞𝐧 with even sweeter treats. We are very happy to invite some peeps building the bridge between Antwerp and Brussels with their sublime taste in music.

𝙰𝚕𝚙 𝙴𝚖𝚛𝚎, Matinée sweetheart and Perspektif founder will open up with a hybrid set. Your new favorite Sunday selector, 𝙲é𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝙼𝚎𝚞𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚜, will follow up, to continue with some things crazy, some soft, but always captivating, 𝙵é𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚎. We close the day with ‘kind aan huis’ 𝙿𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚒𝚗, who’ll tuck you in with a mix between ambient and maybe even some warm bass.

If you climb all the way up to the tops of the trees of Het Bos, you will find the 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐳𝐚𝐚𝐥 filled with musicians meeting each other musically in a 3 hour impro session.

Make yourself comfortable and get to know them while they get to know each other!

𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭 𝐱 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧é𝐞 𝐈 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭

Brussels, do you miss us already? Well, we especially miss you, and that's why we’re super excited about this small 𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 collaboration!

The invitation gives us the chance to bring in some artists we’ve been eager to host for a long time. Happy to finally have 𝚂𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚊 𝚉 from across the Channel with us, and Cesar Quinn's 𝙵𝚛𝚎𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚔 𝙳𝚊𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚜 for his first solo live show.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐭, nestled in the heart of the city, sets the stage for this gathering. Let’s take a moment in between everything, a little intermission, cause the vividness of a festival in the city is equally alive through the moments of rest it demands. Also check out the rest of the free HQ program at Reset on Friday and Saturday, and the rest of the festival line-up, because it's finger-licking good. Honoured to be part of this.

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻é𝗲 𝗜 𝗛𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝘀

The Matinée Sundays leave their beloved birthplace Brussels and go on a li'l Tour de Flandres with stops in Ghent (25/08), Leuven (29/09) and Antwerp (27/10). This tour is coming to an end, but not to worry, as our imaginary tourbus still has a stop planned in our favorite place in Antwerp, Het Bos.

We’ll kick off the day with sweet morning tunes in the 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐛𝐚𝐫. If you climb some stairs, you’ll find the kitchen with even sweeter treats. And with the energy you gained by having some brunch, you can climb all the way up to the top, where the 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐳𝐚𝐚𝐥 will be filled with musicians meeting each other musically in a 3 hour impro session. Get comfortable and get to know them! And this while the percussion trio 𝐬𝐩ë𝐜𝐡𝐭 gets ready to wrap up this little Matinée tournée.

Come hang out/pass by/wander/drift away/go with the flow/… Just definitely come say hi!
