Some of the Berkshire’s finest vendors have come together to present you an unforgettable evening. This late summer feast will be served in the field surrounded by the unparalleled views of Ice House Hill Farm. North Roots Catering has created a cocktail hour spread and four-course tasting menu highlighting the season’s best. Berkshire Mountain Distillers have crafted two signature cocktails to complement the hors d’oeuvres portion of the evening. Kelly’s Package Store has partnered with Hot Plate Brewing and Domaine Bousquet Wine to perfectly pair a beverage for each course. Dinner will be served on beautiful China highlighting Classical Tent’s inventory, all under specialty lighting by Pat Birrell from Alberti Events. Sanitation for the evening provided by White Wolf Excavating.

Hi! I’m Jessy - Founder/Planner/Consultant at Birdhouse. It’s late March, meaning Event season is coming. During this “slow period” I thought I’d share a bit about myself and what I do in my downtime. My passions, my vices, my life. Everyone of these things rejuvenates me and most importantly inspire my work.
1. Branding session last spring: Hair and makeup by and photos by (spray tan by .sunless ). When I recommend vendors, they are tried, and true!
2. Travel: From Maine, to NY, to Europe and everywhere between. I’m ready to go anywhere!
3. Concerts: my musical tastes range from Classical to rap, folk to world beat. You name it, I love it. Live music is my absolute favorite (especially at Tanglewood). This year I am seeing 5 live shows (so far) and 2 of the performers have Taylor in their name…
4. Food and fine dining: well really dining anywhere. I am so lucky to live about 10 minutes from downtown Lenox. So many options!
5. Running: I run religiously every morning, at least 1 mile (good training for those 16 hour wedding days).
6. Oysters and champagne. Enough said.
7. Photography: I only shoot on my phone, and I have it on me, always. This was an award winning photo taken during lockdown.
8. Them. My family. These are my people. They are my everything. I became a planner so I could do a job I love while having the flexibility to prioritize them. If you are ever looking for me, chances are they’ll be close by.

The fact that I get to make a living doing what I love while making other people’s dreams come true is something I’m extremely grateful for. I do it all for these humans and for them I am the most grateful. Wishing a happy and healthy Thanksgiving from our family to yours.

Drum roll please….🥁

I first found my love for event planning when I was the event manager of a local venue. The entire time I wished that I could be more involved in the planning process, and that desire ultimately led me to starting Birdhouse Events. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy for how successful Birdhouse has been these last few years. I certainly wouldn’t have gotten this far we’re it not for the incredible special event community here in the Berkshires. There are too many of you to name in one post - but please know that each and everyone of you have touched me. Don’t even get me started on my amazing couples, without your trust in me, Birdhouse Events wouldn’t be what it is today.

Throughout all of this planning, I often found myself being asked for advice from various venues. Whether it be “How much should I charge couples to rent here“, or “what are my options for bar service”, I always seem to be relying upon my knowledge and experience with venue management and creation. Heck, I even started a new venue during this time- Ice Hill Farm! No matter how much I have grown as a planner, venues just seem to be in my blood.

So as Birdhouse continues to grow, and in my effort to serve our community, I’ve decided to expand my offerings. Today I am thrilled to announce my new business: 𝔹𝕚𝕣𝕕𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕤𝕖 𝔼𝕧𝕖𝕟𝕥 ℙ𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕟𝕕 ℂ𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕦𝕝𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘, 𝕃𝕃ℂ. In addition to being a full-service wedding and special event planner, I now will be offering consulting services to local and regional event venues. Whether you are looking to start a venue from scratch, or would like to grow a business you’ve already started, I’ll give you well researched, experience driven advice for creating a profitable special event program.

To all my couples present and future, I will continue to offer my full book of event planning services every year. The creativity and passion that comes from planning is what drives me and I can’t imagine ever not doing it.

Design and details… I’ve spent the last several days deep in the design mindset. From our first conversation I will ask you to send me visuals of how you see your day. I then take my knowledge of local rental inventory, familiarity with our local florists’s styles, add a little creativity and create a recipe for a beautiful day (all while considering your budget of course). Are there a little details or favors you want to include? Let me know and I’ll be sure to add that to my plan as well. Even with my partial package, I will be the one overseeing and executing your vision on the big day.

However, from the bottom of my heart I cannot advise enough that you should take just a few moments, and snap a few photos, of you and your mother (however you define that). I promise you won’t regret it.
