We did a preview run yesterday of the Moreau Half course and it did not disappoint!

Moreau Lake State Park is looking stunning right now and the trail is very dry. The course is, however, buried in leaves so we will see whether the leaf fairies show up this week.

It is hard to believe but in less than two weeks on November 2nd the 5th annual Moreau Half will take place. Check out the picture of the socially distanced and masked start of 2020 (Greyhound wave).

One of the main reasons we at Mountain Dog Running started this race was to provide true trail running opportunities in the capital district. It has been gratifying to see more and more people running on the trails of Moreau year long both in the woods and on Strava.

As usual we will have a post race BBQ. This year we have two sponsors providing non-alcoholic beer Athletic Brewing Company and regular beer SingleCut North & Side Stage Tap Room. It should be a great celebration.

Time flies! This year is the 5th annual Moreau Half on November 2nd. 4 years ago was almost unrecognizable in November 2020 at the inaugural Moreau Half!

I am excited about the Buck 50K next weekend. https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=113542. There are still a few spots left for runners. We also need more volunteers. If you aren't up to running the whole thing, we do need some sweepers to run sections of the course and pick up flags after the runners pass. Leaves on the ground, cool breeze in the air, pumpkin spice in everything... Fall is quickly approaching! Its time to get your fall race schedule in order! We have 2 iconic races coming this fall.

October 5th: The Buck 50 is one the the most remote, challenging and scenic ultra races in the northeast. There are still spots open for this epic race which climbs 4 of the mighty peaks towering over beautiful Lake George while climbing 9000 ft over the 50k distance.
