A particular variety of very small Fae from Bolivia, Acalica are tied to the weather, which they can manipulate to a degree. Indeed, it is the magic of these fairies that many Bolivian Weather-wixes attempt to mimic and employ when influencing the weather, usually in preference to the practices of European Solomonari Weather-wixes and Balobedu Weather-witches and their Rain Queen. Acalica are a cave-dwelling variety of Fae, believed by some to be possibly related to the Maa-alused of Estonia due to this, which is generally regarded as an ignorantly made link.

Acalica generally look like small wizened men - on those rare occasions they are seen, at least - coming in various colours depending on the weather patterns and whether they are using their magic, with delicate latticework wings, not dissimilar to those of dragonflies or damselflies, and small simple robes they make, from leaves, animal fur and even scraps of cloth they find. Generally preferring their privacy they work hard to keep it and very little is known about their social structure and life cycles, except by those Bolivian Weather-wixes who study them, who generally seem to consider it something each wix must do themselves, and not rely on information given by others.

The Inkanyamba is an aquatic based Cryptid most commonly sighted living by the waterfalls and lakes of Howick Falls in South Africa. This Cryptid has been said to be over 20ft long and resembles a large python with the head of a horse.

Accounts of the Inkanyamba date as far back as the aboriginal cave paintings found throughout the KwaZuluNatal area, which archeologists refer to them as ‘rain animals’ due to their association with vicious summer storms. As recently as 1998 however, residents at the Ingwavma and Pongola regions of KwaZuluNatal have blamed the Inkanyamba’s temper for brutal storms that cost thousands of people to lose their homes.

This cryptids ancient connection with devastating meteorological events is claimed to be because it is strangely absent other than the summer months, when rain is scarce. Traditional Xhosa believe that the Inkanyamba take to the skies in the form of giant tornados in order to find themselves a mate.
