Here's a lil bit about me:

- I was born in Malaysia but have spent a fair share of my life living in Brunei, Adelaide, and Singapore, before settling down here in Perth.

- I am a physiotherapist by day and have been for the last 17 years.

- I love flowers and everything about weddings, so I decided to take my love for flowers seriously 5 years ago when I was experiencing burnout from my day job - I signed up for a full floristry course and it was the best decision ever.

- The first wedding I flowered for was my friend's wedding at Caversham House.

- I have a fluffy dog called Mika that sulks and shows me her sad face every time I have to prepare for a wedding and I can't give her my attention.

- I can't survive the day without coffee. My favourite is flat white.

- I'm a Virgo and a perfectionist at heart.

- Outside work and flowering, I enjoy reading, gardening, cooking and hiking.

FLOWER PREPARATION.

It is really a labour of love.

You'd be surprised by the amount of time, effort and love poured into the preparation work. Processing and conditioning the blooms can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days just so that they look their best on your special day.

It is hard work. It is time consuming. And yet, it is worth it.

Brides-to-be, save this for reference.

Once the bouquets are delivered/picked up, we have no control over how they would hold up; however here's how you can look after the flowers and keep them looking fresh:

- Keep them in a cool dark place out of the heat or direct sunlight until they are needed.

- Leave them hydrated with fresh water until they need to be held or photographed. Dab the ends dry with a tea towel before holding them so they don't drip on the dresses.

- Note that once they are out of water, have been exposed to elements like the sun and the wind, and have been held/fiddled with, they might not look their best anymore towards the end of the night.

When should you book your wedding florist?

The answer is, after you have booked your venue. Having the venue in mind will make it easier for you to visualise your dream wedding and plan for your wedding flowers. It will allow your florist to suggest floral ideas accordingly that create impact and bring your vision to life.

It is important to know that florists might get booked as early as 12 months in advance (sometimes even earlier), so when you find a florist that you would like to work with, it is a good idea to secure their service as early as practicable. This ensures you have ample time to plan and refine your floral wishlist.
