URGENT REQUEST‼️
This time it’s not for a fun event, it’s for a vet that needs our help! Please see the below message from the VROC, and let me know if you can donate, even if it’s only a couple of dollars! Thank you!
- Attention on Deck - The VROC is in need of urgent assistance. We are working a situation involving a 76 year old Vietnam era Navy Veteran named Martin B. He is single, no family and living on a fixed & limited income. He is Post Op having had recent surgery for Achalasia, has bleeding ulcers in his throat, and takes multiple meds. He suffers from PTS. He is currently recovering from surgery at a local extended stay facility in Plano. Upon recovery, his plan is to move to Florida where he has arranged with a Friend to live. His immediate problem is short term funding. His limited income has been exhausted paying for rent, medications and special dietary needs post op. As of 1100 this date, he is out of his room with no immediate options until his next check comes in.
Brothers & Sisters - I love Edward Hale who said " I am only one..but I AM one. I cannot do everything but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the one thing that I can"! I also proudly wear upon my chest a Patch that says "It is my Duty & my Honor to be my Brothers Keeper"! I believe in both of these with all my heart, I believe in my Mission and I believe in leading by example. While I cant do everything I can do one thing so I have payed his rent for the next 2 days to allow me time to work the problem in helping him, collect additional resources until he can recover, and help him meet his objective in relocating to Florida. Any help or advice that those of you who support The VROC can offer in this specific case would be most appreciated. Specifically, I need to pay for 10 days, (including today) lodging totalling $570.00. Ive already paid for 2 so I need $470.00. That is my immediate need. Secure housing while he recovers from his medical condition! TY!
