The largest speaker ever built 60 inches

This is the Mitsubishi Dialtone D160, the largest subwoofer ever built, with 60 inches in the 1980s. Weighing 800kg, it can easily shatter windows and produces small earthquakes that can be felt like ground vibrations within a 2-kilometer range. At the Koriyama factory, the test was conducted at first in the measuring room, but was stopped because the ceiling lamps fell due to vibration. The outdoor test appeared to have a negative impact on the neighborhood. At a distance of about 100 m from the speaker, the sound was felt, but at a greater distance, it was transmitted as vibration and noise on the earth instead of an audible sound. Within a 2-kilometer radius of the factory, damage such as vibrations, small earthquakes, as well as noises from walls and windows occurred.

Nikola Tesla, born on July 10, 1856, in Smiljan (modern-day Croatia), was a visionary Serbian-American inventor whose groundbreaking work transformed the modern world. Tesla displayed an early aptitude for mathematics and engineering, eventually enrolling at the Austrian Polytechnic in Graz. However, his academic journey was cut short in 1878 when he left school, setting the stage for an extraordinary career.

In 1884, Tesla immigrated to the United States, where he briefly worked for Thomas Edison before pursuing his own innovations. By 1887, Tesla developed the alternating current (AC) system, which would revolutionize electricity distribution. In 1891, he invented the Tesla coil, an essential component for wireless communication. Tesla's partnership with George Westinghouse solidified his role in the "War of the Currents," as AC systems proved superior to Edison's direct current (DC).

Tesla's vision extended far beyond electricity. In 1898, he demonstrated a radio-controlled boat, a precursor to modern robotics and wireless technology. By 1901, Tesla began working on the ambitious Wardenclyffe Tower, aiming to provide free global wireless energy. Unfortunately, the project was abandoned in 1906 due to financial struggles.

Despite over 300 patents, Tesla faced poverty in his later years. He spent his final decades in New York City, living in hotels and feeding pigeons, whom he considered his closest companions. On January 1, 1943, the last known photograph of Tesla was taken, showing a frail but thoughtful man. He died just six days later, on January 7, at the age of 86, due to a heart attack.

Tesla's legacy remains unparalleled, influencing countless fields, from electricity to space exploration. His contributions continue to inspire innovation worldwide.
