Hey all, for those of you who don’t already know me my name is Tristan, I’m 21 and born and raised in the Fraser Coast.
Mental illness effects 1 in every 5 people, and is effecting 20% of Australian’s. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also effects how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
I myself have suffered with severe depression and social anxiety and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. One of the difficult aspects of suffering with mental health is taking that first step in accepting and seeking for help.
I have made it a mission upon my self to help break the stigma and raise money and awareness towards this rapidly growing problem. Therefore I want to raise $15,000 for the black dog institute and walk from the Gold Coast to Hervey Bay, Approximately 365km.
It is only early stages, and I have a lot to do to make it happen. I would love for everyone to help spread the word. I’m in need of some sponsorships and even some different ideas to help raise money. If you are able to help in any way feel free to message the page or flick me an email ([email protected]) and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can!
Feel free to invite anyone!
Remember that it’s okay to no be okay!!
Thank you !
