V + M had been engaged for ages but kept putting off wedding planning. The big traditional wedding just never felt right.

They'd already booked a family holiday to Vietnam when M casually floated the idea of eloping while they were here.

V loved the idea. And they'd always have a reason to return to Vietnam.

What they wanted was something beautiful and meaningful, just them and the kids they were planning to surprise.

V booked the Let's Elope package, which meant the only thing they had to worry about on their wedding day was choosing the type of massage to enjoy after breakfast.

Everything else - ceremony planning, photography, hair and makeup, even the lotus bouquets - was handled.

We planned their ceremony for a quiet Tuesday afternoon on Bliss Resort's private beach. No guests to manage, no performance pressure - just them making promises to each other with their toes in the sand.

Virginia and Mackenzie turned their family holiday into their wedding story. Their anniversary destination is locked in forever.

Every couple finds their own perfect way to celebrate. This was theirs.

Already planning a Vietnam trip? Let's talk about adding something special to your itinerary.

Thank you for the images.

P+S came to me with a clear request. They'd planned their legal ceremony back in the States, but wanted something deeper for Vietnam. Something grounded and spiritual, not performative. A moment for them.

That's when I knew the Buddhist blessing at the pagoda in Hoi An would be perfect.

On a quiet Sunday afternoon, just the two of them in traditional ao dais, we gathered with the venerable monk. No guests, no audience - just ten minutes of sacred chanting.

Here's the thing about Buddhist blessings - they're not for everyone. You sit quietly for ten minutes while the monk chants. You can't fidget or check your phone. Some couples find that intimidating.

But for P+S, it was exactly what they were searching for.

After the ceremony, P: 'This felt real. Intentional. Not about impressing anyone else.'

The post-wedding photos were in the Old Town, and then they headed to Morning Glory Signature for a romantic, low-key wedding dinner (nom nom.)

The Buddhist blessing is only available here in Hoi An, and it's perfect for couples who want their ceremony to feel like a spiritual experience rather than a social event.

Sometimes the most meaningful weddings are the quietest ones.

When your friends and family live in Wales and Australia, where do you meet in the middle?

J & J chose Vietnam. Over 100 guests from around the world gathered to celebrate - guests flying in from opposite sides of the globe to be part of their big day. (And boy was it a celebration :)

For J, it was a homecoming to her parents' motherland. For their international crew, it was the adventure that brought everyone together.

But here's the thing I see with big guest lists: everyone arrives with different expectations about how celebrations work. Some expect formal traditions, others are used to casual vibes. Add jet lag and being in a new country, and people really appreciate knowing what's happening next. Do they hang around for photos or can they dive into cocktails and canapes? Where do they need to be for dinner and when?

When you have 100+ people and you're busy being newlyweds, you can't be everywhere making announcements. Clear communication throughout the day makes all the difference.

I help create ceremonies and reception flows that feel personal, while ensuring everyone knows what's happening next (because no one wants to miss anything, right?)

Send me a note to chat about your destination ceremony and reception party.

Thirty years ago, C + N had the big public wedding. The Methodist church was packed, and the whole town was watching. For their vow renewal, they wanted something completely different.

When you're young and getting married, you have no idea what the world is going to throw at you. After 30 years, you have all that lived experience, maturity, and hard-earned wisdom. That's worth celebrating.

They came to Vietnam for their 30th anniversary with just their daughter, sister, and brother-in-law, and two friends. It was stripped back and real. This was all about celebrating the good stuff. Giggling sisters getting their hair and makeup done just like they did 30 years ago. The bubbles flowed, and we all got a little silly. It was a really fun day.

My Vow Renewal Package is designed for exactly this:

✨ Personal ceremony crafted from your journey
✨ 4 hours photography
✨ Professional hair & makeup
✨ Florals (your style, your call)

DM me to start planning your Vietnam vow renewal.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet C + N and their family. Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of it.

K & H were on holiday from England and wanted something private, not a beach, not a resort lawn.

We left Hoi An in the very early morning and headed for My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site where Cham temples have stood for about a millennium. We arrived before the coach buses, found a quiet corner, and kept things discreet (no décor allowed in a protected site).

The ceremony was heartfelt and elegant, and they exchanged wedding rings they'd made for each other at a jeweler in Hanoi.

If you're thinking about My Son, here's what to know:

🔹It's roughly an hour from Hoi An, so once we head out, we're committed
🔹There's a 20-minute walk into the valley with little breeze, so be ready for heat
🔹It's minimalist only: no arches or set-ups, just your words and the ancient setting
🔹Timing matters: aim for first entry to avoid the tour groups that arrive after 8am

Good to know: there's a covered temple within the sanctuary if the weather turns. Once we're outside Hoi An, we adapt rather than turn back.

If you're looking for a private, meaningful ceremony that's not on the beach (or even if you prefer the beach or a resort), I'm a celebrant based in Vietnam. DM me to chat.

Why Vietnam? For Z & M, Australians living in Norway, it brought their world together.

Their first big trip as a couple was here in 2018, and Hoi An became "their place." It's also the perfect halfway point between their friends in Europe and family back home in Australia.

I was lucky enough to be their celebrant. We told their story: nine years of new cities, friendships and adventures…a proposal that totally blindsided her (in the best way)…and a love that's as practical as it is romantic. M loves Z's kindness and determination; she loves his loyalty, support and humour.

If you're considering a symbolic ceremony in Vietnam, I can help you make it personal and effortless:

🔹A ceremony written from your story
🔹Guidance on timing and flow so guests feel cared for
🔹Help with writing your vows and the graceful swan moves for your wedding day.

DM me to start the conversation.

E & B came to Vietnam wanting something simple. Nothing staged, nothing overdone.

They'd been friends for 24 years before the universe finally gave them space to see what was always there.

On a blazing Hoi An afternoon (with B not feeling 100%), we took our time, waited for the heat to ease, then walked to the waterline for a short, heartfelt ceremony as the sun slid down. It was calm, meaningful, and effortless. Afterwards, they celebrated under the stars at the restaurant they discovered on their very first trip here together.

If that sounds like your kind of day, I craft personal, fuss-free ceremonies in Vietnam. DM me to chat about yours.

See for fab photos.

When you're young, the wedding feels like it's for everyone else. Thirty-five years later, P & P wanted something that felt like them.

They planned a simple vow renewal in Hoi An after COVID killed their 30th anniversary plans. Just the two of them, they thought. A heart drawn in the sand, filled with rose petals, and the sea as the backdrop.

But word spread. One by one, the family decided to come: kids, grandkids, and last-minute fly-ins from relatives and friends in Russia! What started as an intimate moment became a full celebration of 35 years—everything P & P have built, overcome, and loved.

(The grandkids had fun filling that heart with petals, but left me to carve it out for them 😅)

Stories like this are exactly why I created my Vow Renewal Package—for couples who want to celebrate their love story in a way that feels meaningful for them.

✨ Personal ceremony written and officiated by yours truly
✨ 4 hours of exquisite photography & images in your inbox within 14 days
✨ Professional hair & makeup
✨ Bouquet and buttonbole florals

Keep it intimate or invite the crew :)

S & R are English and Australian expats working in laser science in Hamburg 🔬. They wanted one thing at their wedding: friends from three continents celebrating together. When S's mum In Melbourne sent her a newspaper article about the Alma Resort, Nha Trang a seed was sown. It was the perfect answer.

S gave herself 72 hours in Ho Chi Minh City to find her wedding dress and ao dais. I had given her a list of recommendations in the months before the wedding so she could research. Some brides would panic about the last-minute gown purchases. But S had a plan which she executed perfectly, like the engineer she is.

Their wedding day was super laid back. Friends and family enjoyed a simple and sincere ceremony before a full Vietnamese feast with cocktails and great wine under the stars. There were plenty of sore heads the next day.

Vietnam is hot for most of the year. Make sure you're guests know what to expect. Set the scene in your wedding invitation.

Here are some tips for a wedding in the Vietnamese heat.

Set realistic dress standards: Formal attire borders on a health hazard for those wearing suits :) Keep it classy and cool. Think lightweight fabrics, breathable colors, and comfort over formality.

Ceremony timing and length: Early morning (7-9 AM) or late afternoon (4:30-6 PM) work best. Keep ceremonies to a maximum of 15-20 minutes. Save other elements for the cool of the reception party.

Hydration, hydration, hydration: Don't skimp on refreshments. Have water available upon arrival. Fresh coconut water or sugar cane juice work a treat. Your guests will thank you.

Wedding Party Comfort: Choose lightweight clothing for your wedding party. Give them the option to change into weather-appropriate clothing after the ceremony—they'll appreciate the thoughtfulness.

Hand fans are always a big hit and they're cheap as chips :)
