I want to give a shout out to Addison with Lola Grace Stickers and Stationary. She has taken on every project I’ve thrown her way—from designing tickets, scavenger hunts, stickers, an Indy Land map and scratch off rewards. And…she’s in high school! I love our small biz collaboration.

Here’s a January date idea you can warm up to! Visit the Indianapolis Salt Cave for a Himalayan Salt Hand and Foot Detox. Or cool down with a Halotherapy treatment in the Salt Cave. Who is Indy Dates? My name is Lisa Gillihan and I am proud to be a woman-owned small business in Indiana. Originally a native of Michigan, I have lived in the Indianapolis area and surrounding suburbs for over 20 years. I also work full-time locally as a school librarian. The years of lesson planning and organization result in paying attention to the details of each date I create. I am a wife and mother to two sons and one stepson. I thrive in the busyness of life. I remember how it felt when my children were young with no date nights on the horizon, no money to pay for a sitter, or ideas of what to do when we did get one. Date night consisted of eating somewhere locally and a trip to Target afterwards. But there are many more meaningful and interesting ways to enjoy the company of your partner in our city. And I am here to help you discover them!

The novelty of needing a code to get in the locked door adds to the fun. Inside you will find a thriving cocktail bar serving small plates. My research sometimes takes me to beautiful, out-of-the-way places that don’t end up making it into my date plans. An example is the teahouse on the campus of Marian University. The Oriental Gardens is a romantic little spot to explore with your partner!

I recently planned a Sweet 16 birthday adventure for twin girls plus their teenage friends! Custom activities included “Which twin would rather?” and a version of headbandz. Candle making at Penn & Beech, coffee at Parlor Public House and dessert at Gallery on 16th rounded out the day!

I recently created a ‘Final Flamingle’ bachelorette adventure. The bride received a gift box to start with plush flamingos for each guest. Then the girls took photos with the flamingos around town including their visit to Selfie Wrld Indy!

Do you have a hard to buy for person/couple in your life? Do you prefer to give others an experience over material items? Our date plans are often purchased as gifts for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and Christmas. Our date announcement card can double as a gift card and the recipient can choose their own themed date. Our date plans do not include the cost of dinner but you could add some cash, a Visa gift card or gift card to the restaurant featured in the date plan to cover the cost.
