Himachal's cycling contingent made a resounding impact at the recently concluded National MTB Championship at Panchkula, Haryana, returning home with a stellar medal haul. The team showcased exceptional talent, grit, and teamwork, leaving a lasting impression on the competition.
Leading the charge was Ashish Sherpa, securing a well-fought Silver Medal in the Under-23 XCO event. Sherpa displayed impressive riding prowess, navigating the demanding course with skill and determination. His silver medal is a testament to his dedication and serves as a source of inspiration for aspiring young riders in the state.
Joining Sherpa on the podium was teammate Kanishk Sharma, who secured a commendable Bronze Medal in the same Under-23 XCO event. Sharma's performance highlights the depth of talent within the Himachal team and his unwavering determination on the race course.
Yugal Thakur, hailing from Shimla, further solidified Himachal's dominance in the Sub-Junior category. This rising star secured an impressive double podium finish, claiming Bronze Medals in both the Cross Country Time Trial (XCT) and XCO events.
