Tonight is a Cold Moon-- the last full moon of the year! As the winter solstice passes, find beauty in the seemingly dead landscape, be it the everlasting green of the holly and pine, or the unique shape of seed pods left in the garden, or the glitter of frost and snow beneath the moon.

Now is a time for reflection and rest. Just as the Earth and its creatures are hibernating, this is your time to recharge. The next time the moon is full, we will be in 2024!

Merry Yule and Winter Solstice! On the longest night of the year, I'm curling up cozy by the fire burning a cut from last year's Christmas tree. I'm thinking about what I want to leave behind in the dark, and what I plan to bring into the light.

Tonight is a Beaver Moon. When the full moon arrives in November, the seasons are in transition. We are in the dark half of the year now. The trees have dropped most (if not all) of their leaves, the mornings are crisp with frost, and the smell of the first snow is in the air.

We are slipping deeper into the restful transition phase of the year. Like the beavers and other animals, we prepare to hunker down for winter after an intense period of hard work during the light half of the year.

Blessed Samhain! I love the image of the liminal space on Samhain--the veil lifting, the space between worlds at it's thinnest. Today I feel my ancestors walking along side me and I am sharing in their favorite foods & drinks.

Tonight is a Hunters Moon. Symbolically, the Hunter’s Moon represents transition, prosperity, fulfillment, and preparation. Our intentions and goals come to fruition this summer and autumn. As the wheel begins to turn toward winter, we can start to turn inward again to refocus and rest.

The Harvest Moon is an indicator that summer has come to an end. September’s full moon is a time of prosperity when we reap the rewards of hard work, and also a time when we prepare for winter’s rest. Just as ancient civilizations both rejoiced in their abundance with feasts and proactively stored food away for the cold months of scarcity ahead, we need to apply this same mindset. What rewards are you reaping? How can you begin to bring more rest into your life?

Blessed Alban Elfed and Autumn Equinox! This is one of my favorite wheel of the year celebrations to mark. The second harvest festival and the ending of the sun's glorious reign. From here on out, the night will grow and the days will get crisper.

Blessed Lammas! To celebrate this merry loaf mass I've made a wheatsheaf with a (poorly shaped) mouse on the stalks and eaten gorgeous stone fruit. Peaches, apricots, cherries--I am partaking in the abundance of the summer as we turn towards autumn. This Lammas is also happening during the Sturgeon Moon-the first of August's full moons! A time to focus on gratitude and abundance. What are you grateful for?

Buck moon--so named for the deer who are growing their antlers at this time. This is a symbol of fertility as summer is in full swing and the earth is filled with lush abundance. Where are you seeing abundance in your life?

Blessed Litha, Alban Hefin, & Summer Solstice! Today the sun is at it's strongest and the earth is in it's fertile glory. I'm celebrating by hiking outside and admiring the lush green of the grasses and trees. The day stretches long into the evening and while I find such joy in this, I'm also excited for the coziness of the turning of the wheel towards the darker months. Until then, you'll find me frolicking in fields, following meandering streams and listening to birdsong.

The Pink Moon reflects the beauty of the spring bloom it illuminates. Named after the pink flowers that are blooming across North America, it represents a time to be fully focused on the present. It's time to move past the planning stages of winter and be in the here and now!

The Clover-
Druids often carried three-leaf clovers with them to help them view evil spirits and keep them away. They began carrying four-leaf clovers for protection and good luck. Druids believed the leaves of these rare clovers represented faith, hope, luck, and love. The number four is all around us: from the four seasons, to the four elements, and the four cardinal directions. I wish you luck today, dear ones, and a very merry Saint Patrick's Day!

Tonight is a Worm Moon--named this because this month, the earthworms start to appear in the soil that finally warms up after the cold winter season. Earthworms bring robins, a sure sign of spring! As the Worm Moon sits in the sky, full of reflected brilliance, this is a time to remember that bringing movement to a situation is what can create the foundation for massive change. This is a reminder of how change can be happening underneath the surface, even if it is not seen or recognized. What changes are wriggling free below your surface?

Blessed Imbolc, friends. While winter is still blanketing the landscape in snow and harsh temperatures, the wheel of the year turns toward spring.
