But I do like busy, as much as I'm tired.
I didn't get to capture much, because I was in work mode. One of these days I'm going to set up a documentary for me and peers, showing you a proper look behind the scenes

As a freelancer it’s pretty important that I have a proper grasp on it, and stay organised. Here’s a simple thing I do and have done for years.

I forgot to mention that when something pencilled then confirms, I simply reallocate it and it changes colour on my calendar

One thing I tell people all the time is that I'm a bit of a venue geek. We played in a variety of theatres, old and new, big and small with various backstage facilities on this 2021 tour. I've enjoyed seeing what different locations have to offer.

This happened, it actually happened 🎪

Stages, Music, Fields of people and even good weather☀️ (no rain, some clouds but still warm, and yesterday was a beautiful sunny day to end on)

Honestly a few months ago I was dubious about any festivals happening this summer, so to see Tramlines and so many others take place has made me so happy. We were WORKING 😭 I don't think a lot of people understand what that means, but for the teams behind the scenes, and also many bands & crew this was the first festival since 2019. That's mad long.

I managed to stop myself shedding a actual tear of joy, but I was close.

SUN + GOOD NEWS = 😁

The little sun we've been having really lifted my mood (it always does). I have more so loved seeing so many festivals and events post to let everyone know they plan to go ahead.

The positive mood and the general buzz in the event world has been so nice. Obviously we know nothing is 100% certain, but let us have this glimmer that's putting a smile on our face for the first time in nearly a year.

P.s I really do love driving these things, promise I don't do the job just to drive them. We called this one the limo, because look, it's huge.

I wanted to share some of my personal experience. As everyone should now know the event industry has gone on a pause for an unknown amount of time, along with many other industries that rely on people being in the same place. You can probably imagine what that has been like for those of us who work full time in these industries.

It's interesting I post this during the theme is kindness and O my goodness, I really have had to be kind to myself in the last couple months. I've had times where I've felt like I'd actually failed at life, then I remember Dani this is a world wide pandemic, it's not you.

I don't share this as a woe is me, I hope it can actually help someone else who has been going through it lately. Do share if you think it will help someone.

Happy to report that so far I haven't lost my mind, and don't plan to.

After near melting down at the start of the week, I've now come to a place where I'm able to pause. Only thing not pausing is these bills, but anyway.

I've personally decided I'm going to give time to all the things I just never found time to do, because the world kept spinning. I'll be digging up content from the archives, some may be useful, other things random, but you're going to see it anyway😄. I'll read, declutter (this will officially be the biggest spring clean ever), I have some sermon series to catch up on (shout out Pastor Mike Todd). I'm also going to tap into some of my other creative sides, may paint again, pick my bass back up, do graphic design and video edits, spend time creating in the kitchen too. I'll do all this whilst planning for the biggest comeback ever.

A friend in the industry checked in with me today and it honestly meant a lot. See how others are doing. We may be doing social distancing but we still have the internet folks. There are also people on their own right now that need others more than ever.

2019 WRAPPED UP

Firstly, hope you're having a great holiday, however you chose to spend it. I personally just like the opportunity to be off at the same time as all my family. Laughing, eating and spending quality time.

Last week I did my last event of the year. 2019 has been full of all kinds from festivals, concerts and conferences to tours. I took a jump this year to pursue what I wanted to do and I don't regret it. I've seen so much, met some amazing people and learnt alot about myself. Although I have loads more to achieve I'm proud of the steps I've made.

CONFESSION. I ended 2018 feeling as though I hadn't done nearly near enough, and I was disappointed in myself. So I vowed to not feel like that at the end of 2019. I wanted to have some significant moments both in work and personal life. Really glad to say I did it 💪🏽

People call it luck, others say the Universe while some give thanks to God. I personally believe God is always looking out, even when I don't know how. Whatever you believe, be sure to always do your best work and the rest will fall in place. Oh disclaimer - can I just point out you have to do your part though, no sitting back waiting for things to magically happen.

HI AGAIN

My name is Dani, since the last time I did an intro a lot has happened, and there are new folks here...Hi 👋🏽

I use to work for an organisation and do my freelance work on the side. March 2019 I made my side thing, my full thing and I've had a great time of learning, growing & discovering. Events are just me, I've been in the industry 10yrs.

I love the Creative Industries, much of my work is in that area. Concerts, Music Festivals, Award Shows & Arts Events fill most of my time. It's honestly the easiest way to make me smile. I've worked in other areas too, and offered services on Weddings & Conferences. My role is always changing depending on the event. I've beeen Tour Manager, Artist Liaison, Venue Coordinator, Access Officer & Stage Manager to name a few.

A lot of you know I have an insane sweet tooth, but as of now I'm trying to cut sugar as well as do a Keto thing (don't ask me how I'm doing 🤦🏽‍♀️) . O and I LOVE dresses & skirts with pockets, it's a thing for me.

I GOT CAUGHT 😄

Saturday I coordinated a Reunion Gospel concert. We sold out, the atmosphere was great. The day was busy, but events like this tend to be. •

During the finale song the group called up kids and anyone wanting to dance. I went backstage for something then realised I couldn't be seen so danced a second. Some of the team caught me though. Guess I was just in a good mood, the evening was a success. I also liked the song, those who know old school gospel music they were singing Perfect Peace by Andre Crouch

THE CHAMPION TOUR •

We did four secondary schools, around 15 shows + The Big Gig on the Friday. Every single school gave us so much energy, we just loved it. Across the week we saw a few thousand young people.

I was on Tour Manager duty for she's got so much coming this year, I'm excited.

We were honoured to have all the way from Copenhagen, with his Gospel Choir. The choir was 60 strong but he told us that was just some, his choir has 100's of members back in Denmark.

It was great to attend this event on Saturday, met a great group of ladies and heard from Ville who shared some of his knowledge & experience with us.

Yesterday WILM and ten WILM-members were invited backstage at the O2-arena in London by Sound system technician Ville Kauhanen!

It was so exciting to learn about the work behind such big productions as this current Britney Spears-tour; having great tips about dos and don'ts; hearing about the work and different team roles; and getting a tour around the arena, behind (and ON) the stage and in the sound booth. A huge thank you for having us, ! We are so grateful for this opportunity 🙏😃

Also a big thank you for the ten enthusiastic girls, who attended this event! It was a pleasure with all your great questions, talks and discussions 👊😎
