Today, in the Crossfit tradition, I got to celebrate our fallen soldiers by doing Murph with this amazing crew! I haven't been working out nearly as much as I want to and my current fitness level is suspect! Suffice it to say, today was a massive struggle for me! So before all of you flood my comments with "So why are you wearing that 20lb vest if you're out of shape " messages, let me explain. I have this vest. I bought this vest. I personalized this vest. I have done some training this year with this vest. For the only even of the year that includes it, I WAS WEARING THIS VEST!🤣🤣🤣 After the first mile, and 5 of the 20 sets I came to my senses and took it off. But I did wear it!🤣 I came so close to quitting so many times. "A half Murph would be ok" I said to myself. But each and everytime I was about to quit, my partners in pain came to my rescue. 30 minutes in Stephanie Vadnais yells "Come on Rob! Stop resting! Just do 1 rep at a time!" 60 minutes in I was lying flat on my face until Celeste McLane yelled "Come on Rob! You can do it! Then when I began the last 1 mile run, Janet Dressler Hopkins ,who had already finished her 2nd mile, ran with me just to keep me going! 1 hour and 33 minutes later, I was done! I can't thank everyone enough for getting me through this today! God willing next year will be easier!
