We are a family run business and our hope is that we provide you with a friendly, family atmosphere along with great smoked meats and sides. Our food is carefully thought through with the customer in mind, and carefully prepared over many hours, as last minute as possible to be as fresh as possible. All that stopped and in consultation with the local authority we discovered we could provide food f

or delivery. Now we have a thriving delivery business alongside our event catering. We can also now go mobile and pitch our gazebo outside for Food Festivals, Craft Fairs, Garden Parties; wherever you need the food to be! Our minimum number for your event is just 6 people. We aim to provide a friendly and welcoming service and atmosphere whatever the numbers, be that 6 or 250. We can bring you the food and leave you to it, or provide an all in service with staff, drinks, dessert, plates... each customer can ask for a bespoke arrangement. We work with you to create a menu that fits your expectations and your budget. Birthday parties, weddings, corporate lunches, celebration dinners... if you want something different to offer your guests then start with us. Our vision for home deliveries is to offer meals to the people of Coventry at a price which encourages you to try out new tastes and combinations. We serve a set meal for delivery and this is why. This type of food is seriously under represented in Coventry and the surrounding area and we meet many people who have never experience wood-smoked meats and southern style sides. So we want to encourage you to try it! We do this by offering tried and tested meal combos that go really well together, including combinations and tastes you might not have thought about. We love trying new recipes and only serve food we think tastes good! We also know that sharing food together can be a great friendship builder. This is one of the reasons we deliver in the early evening. We want to encourage you to eat together with your household or family, and to be able to eat with the smaller ones of your household who might go to bed a bit earlier! The best part of our business is the customers. We love meeting customers during deliveries and at our events, and we really enjoy creating menus for those who want something particular for their special celebration. During Lockdowns we were also able to offer subsidised meals to some of those hardest hit due to the generosity of other customers paying into the scheme. Even though Lockdowns are over, we still want to hear from you if you know someone who needs a free meal or an organisation we can work to give something back. We are registered with Coventry City Council as a food provider. We are members of the National Caterers Association (NCASS) and our membership number is 27184
Dave Silber and Kate Silber have a L2 Food and Hygiene Certificate and oversee all the prep, cooking and serving.

Summer Events are ramping up! This does mean you lovely lot don't get as many deliveries but share the joy with us as we prepare and serve food for parties, weddings and corporate events ❤️

On Saturday we had a great time catering for a 60th garden party in Hinckley. It DIDN'T RAIN. Oh, and food was so good.

How it started

I was flying to South Africa and in a moment of boredom I grabbed the inflight magazine and started browsing. An article caught my hungry eye saying “The Best BBQ in America”. I had to know what that was so on reading, the article introduced me to a new reality - the competition BBQ world. “Better than food found in any restaurant” was the claim. I begin to research online and found some BBQ teams to follow. Soon after I was at a wedding that was catered by such a team. The food was sublime. I knew I had not eaten anything like it before and then I was hooked. I imported a smoker, learned everything I could and most importantly, I began practicing. I was fortunate to grow up in Kansas City, one of the BBQ meccas. I’ve also travelled a lot to Memphis, South Africa, Brazil, Taiwan, the great Southwest in the USA, each time sampling food and discovering new flavours.

Fast forward a few years and now the whole family is involved. Cooking for friends turned into catering parties, fund raising events, church dinners and then weddings. We have our favourites but love exploring the BBQ traditions of the world - different meats, spices, sauces and the all important, different woods. At Burning Plough its all about the taste of wood on fire, building up layers of flavour over long cook times, that you simply can’t get any other way.
