I had the absolute pleasure of building out a dear friends bridal party flowers for her wedding. This was also my first pocket boutonnière with some of my favorite dried and fresh cut florals.

Doing a majority of my wrapping today for the holidays. Did you ever consider adding some dried florals to your gifts? Classics like winter berry or a twig of spruce are a lovely addition but I’m here to remind you not to sleep on some of the more unique beauties as well.

Today’s the day! You can find my work in Sulunga PA stop in for breakfast or lunch, grab yourself some fuel for the holiday, and buy an original.
You’ll find two different series on display and for sale. A light fresh set called Dawn (pictured) and a moody dark set called Through the Woods. Buy one or buy the series, the choice is yours!

Flower Spotlight: Say hello to Strawflower!
These ever lasting stunners come in a number of colors including whites, pinks, reds, and yellows. Their scientific name is Xerochrysum bracteatum and they’re native to Australia.
Since these flowers hold a lot of their pigment after dried, they’re one of my favorites to use in my floral wreaths.

Had a lovely morning visiting my friends in Lancaster City where I walked away with my first Peonies of the season! The arrangements that I build are going to some mamas I know for Mother’s Day.

I have not been feeling very inspired lately which tends to makes me spiral into self doubt. Last night after work while binge watching some show that I don’t really care about, I looked up and remembered this set of wall baskets that I wanted to play with.
After finding a good space for them I realized some dried florals could be nice and add just a little extra something.
I am excited to say that I cannot wait to get on my first video call for my full time gig today and see this installation behind me.
I’m slowly working my way out of this funk and I’m happy that I decided to grab these baskets from the sale rack at the gift shop. Here’s to more creations 💌

Green has quickly become one of my favorite colors. For pallets, for design, for life! I prefer the deeper forest greens but honestly, any green will do. It gives me a sense of calm and peace and I think we could all use a little more of that in our lives.

The Sunshine wreath is complete! This beauty is going out to a supportive friend and coworker . He gave me total creative freedom on this one so I KNEW I had to create a wreath that spoke to his spirit.
This dried floral and falsie beauty was a blast to create and I cannot wait to see how it looks in THE Sunshine Cottage.

Flower Spotlight: Welcome to the party a South African beauty, Leucadendron!
These cuties come in a number of shades highlighting deep pinks and purples, and are a flowering plant in the Proteaceae family. Many also call these Conebushes.
Because of their hearty stalks and transformative expressions as they dry, I LOVE to find ways to add them to my dried wreaths.
You can even catch me saving their leaves to dry and use to create patterns within my pieces. If you see one of these at a flower stand I would always advise you to pick one up and watch it as it opens and drys before you give it a forever home.

Flower Spotlight: Welcome to the feed, an Australian native, Grevillea Ivanhoe!
While this fast-growing hedge is not typically this color, it is a common fresh cut green that is dyed to match the seasons colors. It can be found in floral buckets that want to add texture and drama the the party.
I especially love playing with this Proteaceae family member because each of its little saw-blades can be used to highlight a design and it dries beautifully!
The next time you consider picking up some greens to go with your buds, consider adding a little drama and energy with Grevillea Ivanhoe.

Had to start the year reflecting on the highlights of 2020. It is hard to believe that this past year has highlights but I needed to dig through the files and share some big moments from the year.
1) My first dinner reception featuring all dried arrangements
2) My first shadow boxes made from dried wedding florals
3) My first garland for a beautiful new born photo shoot
4) A consistent client that is a joy to collaborate with and design for
5) A number of classes where I was able to grow, learn, and meet new creative humans
6) A successful Holiday season
7) Buildings my first boutonnière
8) My first attempts at working with epoxy resin and drying flowers in silica gel
9) My first art market where I was able to connect with a number of local vendors
10) Finding new fun ways to bring live greens to clients and customers
Aside from the pictures and big moments I shared above, I met some amazing people, learned a ton of lessons, and am excited to continue building my skills and creating beautiful pieces for those that want or need them

We are almost there. It’s the holiday season and 2020 is almost all wrapped up. If you celebrate Christmas my hope is that you are not too hard on yourself this year. We’ve all been through a lot and I don’t think anyone needs any type of added stress.
I hope that everyone is able to have the type of Holiday Season and year end wrap up they need for the type of year they had. If you’re out and about doing last minute shopping and creating please be safe and no matter what you’re up to try your best to find some fun.
I am wildly grateful for everyone that purchase from me, liked, shared & saved my posts this season. Being able to create for others brings me more joy than you know. You are all gifts to me. So THANK YOU đź’ŚThis was my very first year doing Holiday wreaths and a had a sappy mess of a good time & I look forward to creating more in 2021. Until the New Year, this is me signing off.
