A few you asked, which is my favorite variety of Daffodil, so here she is in all of her glory. With the most handsome model, Max ❤️ 🐾 and Stella girl in the background 🩷🐾

Farm Update

We are covered in a blanket of snow here. Even though I'm not a huge fan, it is nice to have that blanket to protect the plants from the cold temps that are coming this week. Here's an update of what is happening on the farm.

1. The overwintered Eucalyptus experiment is going well (so far!!) I love how the cold temps are causing the color variations in this variety.

2. The Anemone corms were all dug up last July. I obviously missed a few, and they are thriving! This seasons Anemone will be planted in the next couple of weeks!!

3. A little video of my Eucalyptus experiment

4. Planting and transplanting seedlings has been a great indoor project when it's too cold outside!! This picture shows baby Bells of Ireland. They were started in January and will be transplanted outside in March. This cold hardy annual is one of many plants that thrive with a cold start.

5. Snapdragons are also a cold hardy annual. I start these in a 200 cell (the one in the back of the picture). The little cells are perfect for starting such a tiny seed, but they typically need to be bumped up into a larger tray so they don't get root bound. These cuties will be planted out in the high tunnel in the first part of March.

6. The new high tunnel is still not done, ugh!! Work schedules, missing parts, and life have halted progress. We should be back in business and ready to build this week, and fingers crossed, we will have it completed in the next 2 weeks.

Have a great week, and stay warm!!

This fall wedding was filled with special moments.
The bride always dreamed of getting married in the forest and was the perfect venue for that dream. The vision for the ceremony was to have a floral nest that blended naturally into the surroundings.
Warm fall colors made up the color palette. Roses, Mums and Ranunculus accented the locally grown Dahlias, Lisianthus, Hibiscus and Phlox. Jewels of Opar, Viburnum Berries, and Orach added texture and interest. The bride loved the look of dried flowers being used along with fresh. Lunaria, dried grasses and dried Hydrangea were the perfect additions.
Pressed flowers were lovely accents for the wedding cake by the amazing .
This special night ended with a send off filled with dried lavender.

Your special day should be filled with all of the details that tell your story. I love telling stories through flowers and would be honored to be part of your special day.

Farm Update

I hope you are all having a great start to 2025! The mild winter has made winter tasks a little easier this year. Although we are months from having flowers available, there are quite a few that have already been planted.

1. Larkspur- I love this flower!! I had beginners luck the first year I grew it. That amazing year was followed by two seasons where I hardly had any usable stems. After some research, trial, and error, I think I cracked the code last year. Although it is recommended to direct seed, I decided to start them in seed trays. Complete darkness and cool temps are also important, so I placed the covered seed tray in a cool shed that was kept between 45-50 degrees. After 2 weeks, I was thrilled to see almost 100% germination!! So I tried it again, and yippee, it worked!! Larkspur loves to get started in cool temps. This first succession is growing in the high tunnel, and the rest will be planted outside starting in March.

2. Volunteer pansies are popping up in happy little spots all around the high tunnel.

3. The last of the dahlia tubers were divided and tucked into storage this week. I normally like this task to be done in November, but it didn't work out this year!! I was very thankful for the mild temperatures when I was washing them outside!! Brrrr!!

4. Seed starting is in full swing. Some of the flowers started in the last 2 weeks include stock, poppies, lisianthus, sweet peas, and snapdragons. Pictured in the 4th slide are the cutest little snapdragon seedlings that will hopefully be blooming in time to be tucked in a Mother's Day bouquet!!

5. The last picture might look like a bunch of mud and compost. But if you look closely, you will see the sides of our new high tunnel. Another project that was supposed to happen in November, oh well!! By mid-February, it will be filled with ranunculus, anemones, and a few other cold loving flowers.

Thanks for following along!! Stay warm, and have a great week!!

❤️ Stacey
