My favorite place on the farm right now!! There is something magical about a tunnel covered in flowering vines! No matter how old you are, there is a childlike charm to it that is so fun!!
This tunnel is made from 4 cattle panels that are supported on the sides by fence posts. The green side is covered with Love in A Puff vine. The little green lanterns produced by this fun plant add to the whimsical vibe. The other side of the tunnel is Hyacinth Bean Vine. I'm not for sure which part of this plant I love the most. The moody dark green-purple vines, the vibrant purple flowers, or the dark purple seed pods that are left behind after the flowers are done.
The other end of the tunnel has less coverage for a couple of reasons. 1. It gets less sunlight. 2. I planted some nasturtium on both sides, and they were gobbled up by a nasty little bug. It will be filling in soon with more Love in A Puff as well as Cup and Saucer Vine.
Look like fun? I will have both seeds available next spring.

Hope to see you on this beautiful morning at The Liberty Lake Farmers Market, 9-1!!

Hope to see you at The Liberty Lake Farmers Market on Saturday, 9-1.
Sunflowers, dahlias, hydrangeas, cosmos, amaranth, and zinnias are just a few of the flowers you will find in this week's market bouquets.
This zinnia variety is Benary Giant Salmon Rose. It is one of my favorites. Large blooms on nice long stems. The color is a lovely peachy-salmon and fades to a softer shade as the temperatures start to cool.
Hope to see you tomorrow!!

Stripey and sunflowers!!
The last succession of sunflowers has been planted. These will be blooming in late September, early October, and will finish out the season for us. This year has gone by crazy fast!!
Stripey, the kitty is always up for a photo shoot and really didn't think that the planting was all that important. Silly kitty boy!!
This week, we will begin seeding the fall planted hardy annuals. Many will be planted in the high tunnel, but there are also a lot that do just fine planted outside. Bupleurum, Bee's Friend, and Agrostemma, to name a few. Cold hardy annuals thrive with a fall planting. It allows them to begin growing before winter hits, and then they wait patiently until the time is right for them to begin growing in late winter, early spring. This will allow for us to (hopefully!!) have flowers earlier in the season as well as make spring planting a little less chaotic.
We will be at The Liberty Lake Farmers Market this Saturday, 9-1. Hope to see you there!!

Good Bless America!! Land that I love!!!
Happy 4th of July!!
Saponaria is here!
This spring has been confusing!! Some flowers should be blooming and aren't. Others, like Saponaria, are blooming early. For a gal who usually likes a nice tidy schedule, this has been tricky!! I owe too many dollars to the bad word jar, have been crabby too often, and spend a lot of time stressing over things that I can't control (but I really wish I could!!)
It will be fine. The flowers will bloom. Some won't. And that will be OK. But for tonight, I'm happy that the Saponaria is here!!!
❤️Stacey

Happy May Day!!
As a kid, I loved making flower posies and tucking them in a tin can, jar, or paper cone. I would load up my bike basket and hang them on the doors of all of my favorite people's houses. To my delight, sometimes a door would be opened just as I was hanging flowers on the k**b and I would be invited in for cookies!!
Do you celebrate May Day? I hope that you do!!!

Farm Update
After a few failed attempts, the plastic is finally on the greenhouse, and flowers are growing in there!! Snapdragons, stock, anemone, and ranunculus are all thriving because they love the chilly night time temps that we are having.
It is great to see signs of spring around the farm. P***y Willow, Daffodils and Snow Crocus are all making a lovely appearance.
My flower cooler has transitioned into a growing space for lilies. As you can see from the picture, they love the warmer temperatures that the heated space provides. Fingers crossed that some of these lovely ladies will be ready for Mother's Day!!
Direct seeding in the field continues to keep me busy. Bee's Friend (5th pic), poppies, bupleurum, bachelor buttons, corn cockle, and phlox are a few of the seeds planted in the last 2 weeks.
The last picture is from June last year. I checked on them the other day and was very happy to see so many Eremurus coming up. I can't wait to have this lovely flower available again this year!
Seeds are still available on our website. If you are looking to add some lovely flowers to your garden this year, I hope you check it out!

5 Reasons that I love Yarrow
1. It has so many amazing medicinal properties!! The crushed leaves can be used to help treat wounds and burns. Native Americans used the dried leaves to make tea to soothe colds, fever, and headaches. Like nature's little 1st aid kit, I love having Yarrow around!
2. It is a perennial. This means that if taken care of, it will come back each year and bloom with minimal work. As you can see from the second picture, there is a little clean up to do each spring. Once you see new growth, you want to get the old dead leaves and stems out of the way so that the new growth has plenty of light and air. I usually do this in April, but with this year's warm weather, this chore was done in March. .
3. Yarrow is a drought tolerant native plant that is commonly found in North America, as well as in Europe and Asia. If you are wanting to add more native plants to your landscape, Yarrow just might be your gal!
4. The common white Yarrow is lovely, but the colorful varieties are amazing!! Shown in the picture is Yarrow "Summer Berries". I also grow "Summer Pastels" and love it as well!!
5. Yarrow makes an amazing dried flower! The color holds well and it makes an excellent addition to dried bouquets as well as wreaths.
Hopefully I have convinced you that Yarrow is an amazing plant! Are you planning on growing it this year?

Did you know that pinching back your snapdragons will result in more blooms??? Give it a try, I promise you will thank me later!! ❤️ Stacey
Keeping your plants fertilized and will fed is the best way to keep them healthy!! Everything starts with soil health, which is why I do a soil test each year. This helps me understand what weaknesses my soil has and how to correct it. I also spray my flowers weekly with a compost tea concoction. This not only helps to continually bring nutrients to the plants, but it also helps to keep pests away. Give it a try and let me know what you think!! Warning: The fish fertilizer is stinky!!! ❤️Stacey
Farm Tour This area is called the triangle because it's a triangle! The ground just outside of the flowers is farmed with large machinery. Making square corners with a tractor is not really a thing. So, instead, we are left with rounded corners at the top and the bottom of the flower farm. Rather than wasting space, we plant shorter rows to fit in as many flowers as possible!!
Dahlia tuber planting day!! Finally getting these girls in the ground and Ii can't wait for the beauty that they will bring!!
How I like to harvest Narcissus (Daffodils) for the longest vase life. This variety, Ice King, is my earliest bloomer. She has a vase life of 7+ days and fades to a lovely cream color as she ages. Fall is the best time to plant Narcissus if you want to add these to your garden. They come back each year and are deer resistant (although I have heard of especially naughty deer munching them). I will have Ice King Narcissus bouquets available next week. If you would like a bouquet of this lovely spring flower, let me know!! ❤️Stacey
Transplanting Pincushion Flower with my favorite tool, the butter knife!! We have Pincushion Seed available in our Seed Sale if you would like to grow this lovely flower!!
Depending on what type of seed you are planting, some will prefer light, and some will prefer darkness. Happy planting!! ❤️Stacey
