Feral Flowers Why choose just one passion? I love to play with flowers, creating beautiful, often wild-looking bou Once upon a time, I owned a little flower shop.

That was years ago, and though my path since then has been both winding and fulfilling, I've missed the joy and beauty of a life filled with flowers. Now my life is also filled with the joy and beauty of cats... and lots and lots of fur! Both of these things make me abundantly happy, (the cats and flowers more so than the fur), but caring for feral and community cats isn't cheap. I tried creating

a non-profit, but that's as much work as caring for the cats! (And not nearly as much fun). So I've decided to turn my other favorite thing into a way of garnering some much-needed funds for the upkeep and medical attention of my furry little loves. I'm just getting started, working out of my home (the cats try to help whenever possible) and bringing bouquets and arrangements to The Cellar Door/Papilio in Mt. Dora on the weekends, where they become available to the general public. I'm also happy to make deliveries within a limited area whenever possible, and I love creating special orders for special people. But I will only create what truly makes me happy, and hope it makes you happy, too. If it hasn't become obvious by now, I'm not your typical florist. I'm just a cat-loving gal who's happiest surrounded by nature, especially when it's blooming...or purring. My bouquets and untamed arrangements are created with the freedom and abandon of nature in mind. Whenever they're available, I harvest local wildflowers and free-growing greenery to add to the mix, creating a natural look that can’t be duplicated, or possibly appreciated, unless you’re truly feral at heart. If you're interested in what I'm doing and you'd like to help/find out more/get some beautiful flowers, feel free to message me. Either I or one of the cats will get back to you as soon as we can!

Happy Independence Day! Calisto's ready to watch the fireworks!

(Many of our cats enjoy watching the professional fireworks display in town as we're a little ways in from where it takes place. But remember, not all furry creatures enjoy loud noises and smoke close by, so do your part by keeping your pets safe and please be respectful of your community members, both furry and otherwise.) 😊🐈🐈‍⬛🐕🎆❤️💙🇺🇸

Lucien, the official Feral Farmhouse Yard Panther, would like to thank Aunt Crystal for the generous Chewy gift card. With summer now in full swing, even though it's barely begun, we are in desperate need of flea control, so this will really help. (If anyone else wants to be cool like Crystal, feel free to ask me how you can also help out with the many Feral Farmhouse needs!)

Meet Olivia, Tiger, and Snowball. These sweet 7-month-old cutie pies were abandoned, but luckily for them, a new friend took them in. They've all been spayed/neutered and are even microchipped. Unfortunately, our friend can't keep them due to an abundance of allergies. She's looking for a kind and wonderful someone to take them all together and give them a fantastic new home. They are siblings and completely bonded to one another, so it's very important that they get to stay together. It's a lot to ask for anyone to take in one or two cats, and it's almost impossible to find someone who can take in three together. Of course, as you all know, if nobody else can, we will. That's just how it goes. We have until April to find them a furever home. Please let us know if you can help. And please spread the word! Thanks!

Happy New Year from our blepping Benny! He's the only "true" feral cat we have at the moment, all the others having eventually given in to our love and who now love us back so hard. Benny currently shows his love by hissing at me, but he'll also sit when asked and if I tell him to "be nice" he attempts to meow instead of hiss. He also slow blinks when I talk to him. He's definitely not a fan of being touched, or any other human contact. Right now he's in a dog kennel in our living room, recovering from a nasty upper respiratory infection. It took quite a bit of effort and wily maneuvers to get him into the kennel in the first place, so I don't want to let him out until he's fully recovered, just in case another vet visit is in order (many thanks to the incredibly brave staff at Palmetto Animal Hospital for treating him)! Just finished steaming him with two pots of boiling water outside his tiny house, covered with a sheet. Seems to have helped a little. All in a day's work, and I'm grateful every day that we can bring comfort to some critters when they need it.
So here's to finding joy in all the little (furry) things in life, and a very Happy New Year to you and yours, from us and ours here at the Feral Farmhouse!

Bennington William Theodore Carbuncle wishes everyone near and far a very Happy New Year.

This is Wampus on the first day we met her. We were sitting in our back yard having a shed put in when the man installing the thing asked us how we wanted to have it sit. We told him on an angle and he replied, "All catty wampus then." We laughed and thought that the next cat we adopt should have that name. Less than 10 minutes after that, this adorable, hungry little thing shows up. Devon went inside to get some leftover chicken we had in the fridge while Cary sat on the stoop and slow blinked at her in the hopes that it would relax her. The gambit worked and our Wampus joined our little family.

If you're feeling like a cat (not wanting to venture out in the heat or the rain, and we don't blame you) and you're wishing you could still get some flowers, just let us know! We'd be happy to make a local fresh flower delivery right to your door! And this weekend we'll even waive the delivery fee. (Don't thank us. It was the Eamon's idea.)

Romy and Lucien were very excited to see the flowers we'd brought home to The Feral Farmhouse to play with for our upcoming visit to One Flight Up this Saturday! We'll be there with smiles and bouquets for everyone from 11 - 4.

Now if we could just get the cats to remember that we have to take the flowers out of the boxes first... 😄🐈🐈‍⬛💚💐
