Capturing the Moment, Entertaining Guests, Having a Heirloom Work of Art for a Lifetime

There is simply nothing else like it to capture a moment in time than a live painting. Unlike a photograph I aim to capture the event, not a momentary piece of it. A wedding reception may last four or more hours. All of the event can be caught in a painting with a special focus on the couple. A photographer can record a first dance but they cannot arrange the space so there is a sight line to see it and the whole atmosphere. In my paintings, people will be doing all the things they do in an evening. They will be talking, laughing, dancing eating, sitting , standing and just enjoying themselves, celebrating the event.

Having a live painting done is like getting two things for one. The first is the entertainment. I will be creating a work of art from start to finish in the evening. Your guests have probably never seen anything like it. It creates conversation and something to visit throughout the night as its progresses. It is entertaining for all ages from toddlers to seniors. I happily talk to everyone as I paint, I paint the painting in a frame and I dress in my best hat and vest.

Unlike other live artists, I strive to make sure you will be receiving a work of art when it is all done. Many live evnt painters just leave the painting at the end of the night, leaving you to deal with a wet painting but also a “ you get what you get” . I will take the painting at the end of the evening and take it to my studio to dry. I will look at it and do any touch up to make it the best impressionist painting it can be. At that time I will send you a high resolution photo of the painting for your input. I will also ask you for up to 10 friends and or family members that are important to you and I will place them into the scene if they are not already there. We may go back and forth as long as you like until it is perfect. If the grooms tie was a certain color or the brides hair was just so, it will be that way before it leaves the studio.

Once everyone is happy with the results I will ship the painting to you anywhere in the world. You are also welcome to use the image on cards or anything else. If you chose to have the painting framed by me it will arrive framed, papered and wired , with hooks, ready to go up on your wall.
