Hello all! As many of you know, the laser guy that cuts all of my etched door hangers is also my brother-in-law, James. D’s Door Art wouldn’t exist without his support. So now, I’m asking for your help to support him & his family.

Four days ago, James, his husband, Jeff, their two children, Avery & Reed, & two dogs, Brutus & Winston, evacuated their home that had caught fire around 4am, thankfully without injury. They are only beginning to figure out what all has been lost; however, we do know that our niece’s & nephew’s bedrooms were the worst impacted from the fire. Most everything in their rooms is a complete loss.

My sister-in-law / James’s twin, Jaimie, & I are working together to replace some of the things that Avery & Reed lost. I’ll post the list in the comments. If you are able to help, we are so appreciative. Please PM this page, Dana, or Jaimie to collect anything you are able to donate. If you would like to help monetarily so we can shop for them, please send to my Venmo: Dana-McFarland-7. If you would rather donate cash, Jaimie is a member of management at the Highway 54 Walmart in Owensboro.

If you are unable to help, we completely understand. Please send them all of the positive vibes & keep them in your thoughts as James, Jeff, Avery, & Reed navigate through these next few days, weeks, & months to return some sort of normalcy.

If you follow any creators or bloggers, you most likely will see them starting to put together vision boards or pick a word to focus on in the new year.

For the new year, I am overachieving & picking two words to focus on in 2025: Growth & Celebrate.

My 2024 was a lot of personal growth after being laid off from my full-time job & figuring out who I was again as an employee. Growth happened in tweaking my paint parties and learning from each party to improve. For 2025, I want to continue to grow with paint parties and party kits. Growth also brings about pains and learning what works and what doesn’t. I want the best for you - my customers.

“Celebrate” seems to go hand in hand with party. Usually you are celebrating someone or something with a party & that’s what I aim to do - celebrate the holiday, the season, & my paint party people. I love to celebrate the upcoming whatever it is so I want that to reflect in my parties.

Thank you all that ordered custom orders, hosted paint parties, and/or ordered paint party kits in 2024! Your support means the absolute world to me. There were days of doubt and second guessing but you all showed up and showed out for this business.

Thank you to In The Groove for all of the design work, late texts/early phone calls, & last minute orders over this past year! D’s Door Art wouldn’t have the best laser cut door hangers in town without ITG.

And lastly but most importantly, THANK YOU Jon & Kaela for literally everything. You all have listened to all of it, helped set up & break down parties, suggested ways to make things flow better, & everything in between. You all are my biggest & best support. ❤️

Random Dana info: Did you know that I have dedicated over ten years of my life to volleyball? 🏐 I played volleyball from 6th grade to my freshman year of college. Then, I went back to my Alma mater to coach. Three high school seasons & 3 travel club seasons all packed into three years was enough for me. I’m now “retired” 😂

Hey friends! Here are some details about the paint party coming up on Saturday, November 30th. Last day to sign up is November 23rd, which is this Saturday! Hope you all can join us! I have some goodies to give away too. Side note: how many “ums” did you hear?! 😂 I’m notorious for saying “um” a ridiculous amount of times.

Happy Thursday painting friends! I usually always use paint markers for lettering, but the font was right that I felt comfortable to paint with a brush. Are you a marker or brush kind of painter when it comes to lettering?
