We’ve been loving this fall weather! Watching the leaves finally turn color, and cozying up on the couch with hot tea has become a daily routine. Can you believe October is already almost over? 🙈🍂

Packing Tips for Photo Styling on the Day-of

Gather together items for your photographer to capture those detail shots you love. Here's some recommendations:

• Ring boxes to hold both of your wedding rings. Our fave is themrsbox.com because they have pretty much any color to match your wedding palette, and their boxes add beautiful textures to the photos

• Extra invitation set. Make sure you set aside an extra wedding invitation that can be used for photos. Don't forget the RSVP cards, envelopes and any other stationary you may want included. (Plus, you can use this for your wedding scrapbook later)

• Sentimental family elements. We love it when a photographer incorporates items that hold special meaning to the couple. Whether it be a grandmother's embroidered handkerchief, a family Bible, or heirloom jewelry, these items weave a story into the details of your day that you'll never forget.

• Speaking of jewelry! Incorporate you and your spouse's accessories beyond just the rings: earrings, cuff links, beaded bridal belt, or a groom's watch.

• Other textural elements. Find color swatches that match your color palette using bridesmaid dresses, groomsmen ties or pocket squares, table napkins, and ribbons.

Let us know what else you would incorporate in the comments below!

Eucalyptus in Tennessee - what a sight to see! 🌿

We recently assisted a for a wedding and the couple had selected eucalyptus leaves as part of their floral arrangements. (For those of you who don’t know, eucalyptus doesn’t grow native in TN.) We were pleasantly surprised to learn the florist had shipped them out from our home in California.

It got us thinking though, would you use florals that aren’t native to your event location, or do you prefer to keep it local? Comment below!

As you saw before, we’ve been on an online hiatus for quite some time now. Much like everyone else in the our 2020 was spent pivoting and repivoting with the ever-changing mandates. After cancelling, rescheduling, and replanning events, we decided to put our own business on pause while helping our other execute their events instead.

Come 2021, we relaunched and rebranded, ready to take the post-Covid world by storm. A few months into the year, our founder Erika announced that she was pregnant and would be limited in how many clients she could take on for the year. As things reopened, we were able to help some brides prepare for their rescheduled weddings.

Early 2022, little Baby Gorman came into the world and a few months later, Erika moved her family - and the business - to the greater Nashville area in Tennessee. The Ever Upward Co has big plans for Middle Tennessee and we can’t wait to see how things unfold in this new chapter for our team. Thanks for supporting us and following along in our journey!
