Meet our Chief Guest for the 2022 Voi Tech-novation Forum, Andrew Alston

He is the CTO of Liquid Labs the research and development arm of Liquid telecom .

Originally from South Africa, Andrew started working full time in the industry at age 16 as a software consultant on AIX systems.

Andrew then moved into the academic sector. Working first at the University of Cape Town as a network engineer, he then moved onwards to the position of Chief Technology Officer for TENET(the South African Research And Education Network) where he was responsible for the design and roll out of what was at that point, Africa's largest and fastest network.

He then relocated to Kenya, and joined Liquid as Group Head of IP Strategy, and has since taken the role of CTO of the Research & Development (R&D)division.

Recently he was selected as one of the 3 routing area directors for the IETF - becoming the first resident African to ever hold an IETF senior management position

Aside from the heavy focus on routing technologies, Andrew writes code (primarily in C, Golang and Assembler), primarily revolving around the testing and implementation of routing technologies as part of the R&D efforts into the latest technologies.

Meet our Keynote Speaker for the 2022 Voi Tech-novation Forum Eng. Brian Nyagol.

He is an Internet of Things (IoT) Engineer by profession and Software Engineer by passion and practice.

He is the Project Manager, Pay As You Go Water Services at Davis & Shirtliff Limited with a vision to make clean water available and affordable to every home, farm and community in Africa, using solar energy.

Brian is also the CEO of Brainverse Technologies - Growing With You, an IT firm building Africa-wide digital solutions to help businesses small and big to establish and expand their digital footprint and increase their internal operational strength.

Additionally, the Moi University, alumnus is a seasoned entrepreneur and is the founder and CEO of Startup Suite, a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that digitizes, unifies and intelligently connects operations of SMEs.

Brainverse and Startup Suite collectively employs 15 young people working remotely for the past 4 years from across Kenya and Nigeria.

Brian is a youth mentor, a Kenya Youth Agenda's 2020 Top 35-Under-35 Youths in Kenya awardee, and passionate about using technology for good."
