"Every share counts! Help us support Lupus UK and spread awareness about invisible illnesses. This year, Lupus Awareness Month is centred around lupus being an ‘invisible illness’. Many lupus symptoms are not visible such as headaches, extreme fatigue, organ involvement and joint aches and pains making lupus patients who may have these symptoms appear ‘fine’ but not feeling ‘fine’. LUPUS UK wants to educate the general public, so that they are aware that not all conditions are visible and because you may not physically see a condition, it doesn’t mean it’s not there.
Although around 90% of lupus patients are women, we wanted to highlight that men and children can also be affected by lupus too. LUPUS UK has a publication dedicated to men and young people affected by lupus.

Lupus Modified Three Promises
Promise 1. Create a car event in awareness of Lupus disease and donate the money to Lupus UK
Promise 2. Unify the car enthusiasts, clubs and create a trend.
Promise 3. Create a safe haven on the east coast for car enthusiasts to meet drag and burnout.
What is Lupus Modified. Allow me to explain what it's all about and how we're making a difference!
Lupus Modified is a charitable initiative dedicated to the memory of Abbey Leigh Collins. Our mission is to raise awareness for Lupus UK, after Abbey passed away from the disease, we encourage donations to support their important work. In addition, we are aiming to bring a car event to the East Riding Of Yorkshire and Humberside Area
To show your support for our cause, we offer free stickers that you can proudly display on your cars Please only take a sticker if you are going to use it, we offer two stickers per person for free, we understand people like to keep their car symmetrical.
when you display the sticker it advertises you support our goals.
Abbey, a passionate car enthusiast, couldn't always attend events due to her illness. During her final days at St Catherine's Hospice Scarborough, she often dreamt of an event like this, and she made me promise to create a safe haven for car enthusiasts on the East Coast.
With Abbey's dream in mind, we are actively seeking a venue that provides ample space and is perfectly aligned with our envisioned event We are currently in talks for two possible venues. This space will allow car enthusiasts to experience various motorsports, all within a controlled and safe environment. We're talking drifting, supercar experiences, drag racing, rallying, and even the presence of ARDS license holders who can offer guidance on entering the motorsport industry. There will be demos, interactive opportunitie
19th of October 2022 was Abbeys funeral day, a convoy of modified cars followed the horse and carriage that was carrying Abbey as they passed Scarborough sea front, they let off purple smoke flares in memory of Abbey the beginning of a new chapter keeping Abbeys story alive through Lupus Modified and setting off the purple flare trend.
We aim to make this trend go viral in May 2024 for Lupus Awareness Month by getting the car enthusiast community on board with setting off a purple smoke grenade by their cars with the #lupusawareness #lupuswarrior #LupusUK #lupusmodified links.
Together the car enthusiasts can raise awareness 💜
R.I.P Abbey, we won't stop till the 3 promises you made me commit to are achieved.
Promise 1. Create a car event in awareness of Lupus disease and donate the money to Lupus UK
Promise 2. Unify the car enthusiasts, clubs and create a trend.
Promise 3. Create a safe haven on the east coast for car enthusiasts to meet.
This isn't no easy task, but everyday more and more people are onboard with support!

25th of June Abbey couldn't make it to her final car event's due to being in St Catherines end of Life Hospice. So after Connor Mole contacted Zoe Dagnall about possibly bringing together some of the local car community to the hospice car park with permission from Saint Catherine's Scarborough themselves we hosted a miniature car gathering and a convoy down to Filey Country Park Car Park which was one of Abby's favourite spots. They paraded down with a fleet of cars with purple butterfly stickers on, in honour of Abbey Leigh Collins.

It is very important you watch this video.
Especially if you're arriving tonight.
This is our once in a life time chance to make a statement to North Yorkshire council and show the community that car clubs can have a positive and be well behaved.
Andy and Wendy have allowed us this incredible opportunity
to prove that we can come together and follow a set of rules that reflect the values we stand for.
These rules are non negotiablable and crucial to this event and possible future ones
These rules include.
being strictly static,
no speeding to and from the event
no engine revving,
no burnouts, and absolutely
no anti-social behavior.
No conveying round the track, it is a public road, fines can and will be issued.
we stick to the private landed paddock which cars will be locked in at 8:30pm and gates re opening at 9pm for us all to leave 2 cars at a time to avoid the convy ban.
No going into Scarborough city centre or seafront at all if your car is not registered in Scarborough as their is a convy ban in place.
No license no entry.
If anyone brakes rules police will be called.
Let's come together, create something extraordinary, and honor Abbey's memory. Together, we can make a real impact.
Let's remember the purpose of this event. It's not just about cars; it's about honoring Abbey's dream of a car show for lupus awareness. We want to make her proud as she looks down from heaven above.
This video had to be quickly filmed and edited early hours this morning last minute with no camera equipment or plan to make sure everyone got our point and understood.
