Hey, you look familiar
If you go to shows around Burlington, I’m the oldish woman with the big hair holding up the wall in the back of the room smiling and gently rocking out to herself with a drink.
B.C. (Before Coronavirus), I helped with booking for Stone’s Throw Pizza in Richmond and they, along with all the other restaurants, bars and music venues, had to close their dining rooms and gathering spaces. On March 13 I had to cancel (indefinitely postpone) 2 months of live music bookings, and I felt like crap for being one more bearer of bad news for these talented musicians. That night I went to the restaurant because I knew it was one of my last chances to enjoy an evening at the bar with my friends for a while and I could drown my sorrows in a cider. I felt helpless, until I saw a post from Big Heavy World looking for volunteer DJs and offering streaming services for musicians. I figured this is something I can do. I enjoy sharing music with people and talking about the back stories, so this felt like a good fit and through this page I hope to expand the conversation from the airwaves to the page. Hopefully learn from others as well.
