When you love what you do, it shows.❤️

I finally had this photo of my work printed on canvas and hang it on a corner wall in our family room. This makes me smile as this was not only a winning piece of a floral design contest, but the design contest was in honor of my mentor and friend Phil Rulloda AIFD, and to endow his Scholarship Fund.
When we bought our flower shop in 1990, I did not have any clue on running a business, let alone run a flower shop and be a florist! I saw an ad about Southern California School of Floral Design, and I signed up for it! That was where I met Phil and Cathy, and the rest is history!
And for me to win this design contest was a full circle!
Another mentor and friend close to my heart is JR Nocon. (Sadly, JR passed away in 2014.)
Both Phil and JR has been my biggest inspirations and has had a huge influence in my designs. Forever grateful.❤️🌸

Another whimsical Christmas tree, with the little ones in mind, particularly my client’s adorable granddaughters. I imagine watching their joy when seeing such Christmas tree is absolutely infectious and heartwarming. Their eyes widen with wonder, sparkling like the twinkling lights on the tree. A huge smile spreads across their face, showcasing their excitement and delight. Their laughter and squeals of joy fill the air, creating a magical atmosphere that’s simply unforgettable. They can’t help but touch, explore, and admire every whimsical detail on the tree, from the colorful ornaments to the ribbons and bows. The child’s joy is pure, genuine, and utterly captivating. Fun facts about our Christmas tree rentals: •It started as an “experiment” to see if there was a need for this service. My mission: spread joy and make it less stress for our customers. •We bought 2 Christmas trees and complete sets of ornaments and decors for each. •I approached 2 of our dear existing customers at that time, pitched my proposal of helping them lessen their stress during Christmas season. •Both said yes, one said to do her office. Yay! So after we closed our flower shop at the end of the day, we went to set it up, on 2 different days. •They were very happy & it made us even happier! •We never advertised as we were still figuring out a lot of things: • Such as our inventory, where do we store them after the holidays, how many can we do each holiday, etc. • About our schedule; we still want to be there for our kids, busy with school and their activities. • Then, with words of mouth, we started getting calls. •The first year, we could only take a couple more; remember it was just an experiment. Our flower shop was busy with fresh floral arrangements for holiday parties and everyday deliveries. We only do it when our shop is closed. • The following year, we bought more Christmas trees, ornaments, timers, extension cords, Christmas lights/ this was prior to prelit LED lights! • When we sold the retail part of the business in 2014 to become wedding and event florists, we invested in more trees for the holidays, and put our Christmas trees on our website. • We eventually switched to newer Christmas trees with LED lights. Organized our storage area for all the inventory. • We have more new customers that we do every year! We also do same day install and take down for company parties and events, as well as airBnb’s for family holiday reunions. Continued to comments.
