Disney Quiz Night 2022

Hi everyone!

Just posting this hoping everyone attended will see this. There’s been a few positive cases of COVID within our team and close relatives that we think may have stemmed from the quiz night on Friday. We strongly encourage those who haven’t already since the quiz to take a lateral flow test to be on the safe side.

We know this comes at the same week as mask mandates were lifted but we still want everyone to be as safe as possible.

TOTAL RAISED ANNOUNCEMENT!

Thank you to everyone who came last night for their support and we hope you all enjoyed the evening as much as we did! To all those who wanted to attend but couldn’t you’ll be given first priority when our next quiz is announced.

We are so pleased to announce that we raised £500 for the Give Kids the World Village!!!

This is an incredible amount and far more then we hoped to achieve so thank you to everyone for your donations to this amazing cause!

We hope to see you all again soon! 💙

IT’S TODAY!

We can’t wait to welcome you all to our quiz TONIGHT! Our quiz night has been SOLD OUT for weeks now and we just can’t believe the amount of support we have received from everyone! Just a few reminders for coming tonight . .

- CASH ONLY, preferably coins for the stalls, everything is either £1 or 50p
- Car Park Entrance as this will be easier for you to find the activity room
- No alcohol is to brought into the Playhouse, it must be purchased at the bar upstairs
- Please remember some people may feel more comfortable wearing masks

Doors open at 6pm for the quiz to start at 7pm! SEE YOU ALL SOON!

DOUBLE POST!!

Recommended Viewing - CLASSICS SECTION

We’ve reached the conclusion of the quiz night! Our final section will be the Disney Animated Classics! There will be 3 rounds, Easy, Princesses, and Difficult! We shall be visiting fan favourites like The Lion King, Peter Pan and Encanto. But there will also be a few lesser known movies included such as The Black Cauldron, The Rescuers, and The Great Mouse Detective.

With the Princesses being a round all on their own, we would highly recommend some knowledge of all the characters that come under the Disney Princess franchise (note this does not include Anna and Elsa from Frozen!)

And since we are doing a double post, we are pleased to announce our advertised FIRST PRIZE! The winner will receive a £50 gift card to The Montrose Playhouse and their own trophy to forever commemorate their achievement! Will your team claim this stunning victory?

1 WEEK TO GO!!!

Can’t believe this quiz will be happening this time next week! We are so excited to welcome everyone to see what we’ve been working so hard on!

We just want to pop a couple of reminders this week so it’s hopefully fresh in the brain in time for the quiz!

- Please bring CASH! This is not only the pay for your table but we will have a raffle, a bake sale and other games for either 50p or £1 per play so please remember to take cash for this

- Use the CAR PARK ENTRANCE at the Montrose Playhouse. This makes it easier for not only yourselves getting to the activity room where the quiz is taking place, but also the Playhouse staff to save confusion

- If anyone has any items they would like to donate to the raffle or help with the bake sale please DM and let us know, it would be highly appreciated!

- If you haven’t messaged this page back with how many will be at your table on the night can you please do so! We want as many people as possible to attend within our limits

2ND PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENT

The prize for 2nd place of our Disney Quiz is a Bake with Mickey set! This included a mixing bowl, rolling pin, cookie cutters, oven mittens and a waffle iron and shaped (or creates the shape of) Mickey Mouse!

Recommended Viewing - MARVEL + STAR WARS SECTION

Double post today since we have fallen behind again, starting off with a run down for the Marvel + Star Wars section that will be kicking off the second part of the evening!

The Marvel section will cover both the movies and the recently released shows on Disney+, we will only be using information gained from the MCU so questions may not be comic accurate! Having a basic knowledge of most of the major movies is highly recommended, like The Avengers, Thor Ragnarok, and Black Panther. As well as knowing the characters in the shows like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki.

The Star Wars section will also cover the movies and the shows on Disney+. Watching Rogue One and catching a few episodes of The Clone Wars series, including episodes with the Bad Batch is encouraged alongside knowledge of the movies inside the Skywalker saga. We’re sure everyone knows the cutest creature in the galaxy we first saw in The Mandolorian, but it would be beneficial to learn his name before attending!

We shall be posted 2nd prize for the quiz later this evening!

3RD PRIZE ANNOUNCEMENT

Our 3rd place prize this year is “A Crafty Night In”!

This set includes arts and crafts items like the cross-stitch Mickey Mouse set, a Frozen 2 diamond painting, and a paint-your-own Christmas card set! The comfort element of brought by the Star Wars blanket and the Mickey inspired hot water bottle cover!

Recommended Watching - PIXAR + LIVE ACTION SECTION

This section is quite self explanatory thankfully! The first round will be all things Pixar, including behind the scenes! Definitely recommended having basic knowledge on all the films under this umbrella, should be fairly easy since a significant portion are sequels. Keep an eye on the small details like the opposing scare school in Monsters University as well as learning the names of the secondary characters in films like Toy Story 3, Luca, and Inside Out

The Live Action round covers a wide array of films. From the classics like Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks, to the remakes of animated films from our childhood like Alice in Wonderland and Cruella. This also covers Disney Channel movies like High School Musical and Camp Rock! Any Live Action movie done under the Disney umbrella could be included in this round, but that’s all we will give away for now!

We shall continue the catch-up of posts tomorrow with revealing the 3rd place prize!

Hi Everyone!

First of all we want to apologise for not replying to messages and missing on the planned posts for the quiz. The team has been working hard to work out logistics and has been overwhelmed by the amazing response we have received. We know this is not an excuse and we sincerely apologise for not keeping on top of it

Our quiz night is now SOLD OUT but we will be starting a waitlist for those who have asked to book a table, it will be done as first come first serve, we will be sending out messages shortly.

We will also be posting our update posts later tonight, tomorrow, and then as planned on Friday

3 WEEKS TO GO!

We are so amazed to say that we are very nearly SOLD OUT! 😍✨

We will be messaging people this weekend who have already booked to confirm how many will roughly be at their table. We want to try and get as many people to experience the night as possible but we also need to respect the capacity limit of the space we are in so it is in the name of safety!

On that note, if your situation changes please let us know, whether that’s the amount of people at your table or if you’ll be unable to go. If we continue to receive inquiries about tables we will start a waitlist.

It has also been brought to our attention the number on our poster is missing a digit, so if you know anyone who has tried to get through to us through text or phone please tell them to message to FB page instead, we profusely apologise for this oversight.

As for updates on the night itself, the prizes for the Lucky Dip will be getting wrapped this weekend! Our team will be doing a dry run of the quiz next week to consolidate the timings for the slides as well.

Overall things are running smoothly and we can’t wait to welcome you all THIS MONTH!!

Wow, wow WOW GUYS!

Thank you so much to The Montrose Playhouse for posting our quiz on their FB page. We’ve had SO many people book their tables today so thank you all so much for your support! Please make sure your privacy settings are open so we can reply to confirm your table, a few people have messaged but we’re unable to confirm because of this.

Today we shall be announcing the prizes for Best Team Name + Best Costume!

Best Team Name will win a Lion King board game and an Infinity Gauntlet puzzle so you can have your own mini Disney games night in the future!

There will be multiple winner for Best Costume, we will have the opportunity to have 4 runner-up’s which will receive one of these Tiny Big Foot characters, you will also have the opportunity to win these in the lucky dip! But the winner will win a canvas of their choice! There will be Mickey + Friends, Marvel and Princesses on offer for the winner(not pictured to avoid confusion)!

We want to thank everyone who has booked a table so far and we can’t wait to see you all there!

Recommend listening - MUSIC SECTION

This topic covers all the bases from the animated Classics, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel & Live Action Films! A sneak peek of the presentation is below! You’ll be hearing only the first 10-15 seconds of each song so identifying from the start of a tune is essential! The first 2 rounds will be regular songs guessing the title of the song and it’s associated movie, whilst the 3rd round will have you guessing the movie or tv show from the theme tune or background music.

Best advice for this round is definitely make sure you’re aware of the best known songs that Disney has to offer.

Most people will have already seen classics like:
- Toy Story
- Cinderella
- High School Musical
- The Lion King
- Jungle Book . . . and more

But lesser known movies to get up to speed on the songs include:
- A Goofy Movie
- Decendants
- Alice in Wonderland (Live Action)
- Big Hero 6
- Brother Bear . . . to name a few

There’s a lot more songs than what we’ve given away here, so get your Disney playlists on the go so you can ace this section! With 70 points overall in this category (the most that any category offers) you’ll want to take as many as possible to start the quiz off on the right note!

The Disney Quiz night is making it's return on the 22nd of April! The proceeds will again be going to the Give Kids the World Village.

We've moved to the amazing Montrose Playhouse and the 1st prize this year is a £50 gift voucher to spend there! Please note that we shall be using the activity room so using the entrance in the car park will ensure easy access for all. We also have 2nd + 3rd prizes (to be announced), as well as best costume +team name up for grabs also!

With returning rounds like Music + Animated Classics, alongside a bigger presence for Star Wars, Marvel + Pixar! The quiz is already finished and we can't wait to see how the teams do! There will also be more stalls at this event apart from the raffle!
