Looking for men and women who can rock a crowd and be D8's top DJ!

Judging is based on criteria:
1. Crowd Participation.
2. Technical. Overall mixing and rhythmic skill. Use of the equipment/mixer. Blends. Tricks
3. Musicality: Track selection. Musical style. Musical awareness. Track flow. Track compatibility.

*No hype men allowed!

Categories:
Round 1 - Hip Hop: East Coast, West Coast, and Down South music
3 minutes per DJ
Top 4 with most overall points advances to Round 2

Round 2 - 80s, and 90s(hip hop and R&B) music
Top 2 most overall points advances to Round 3 -final.
3 minutes per DJ

Round 3 - Freestyle - any genre of music allowed!
5 minutes per DJ
DJ with most overall points, wins!

Prizes
$1,000. Only the top DJ wins, so come with it!

Entry fee $50

Must register and pay by Mar 1st, 2024.

D8 MLK Basketball Classic

Our tournament is hosted every year the Saturday before Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. We will award a single mother who is pursing an education and/or career with the Lelia Mae Briggs-Hunt Award during the tournament. We are in our second year and growing, if you can’t play basketball anymore nor can register a team, no problem, please stop by to support the cause and enjoy some good basketball.
