Substance aka DJ Pete is a true pioneer of Berlin's techno scene, with decades of influence shaping the genre's history. He became a key figure at Hard Wax in 1991, one of the world’s most iconic record stores. As Substance, his solo work and remixes for legends like Juan Atkins, Regis, Robert Hood, and Orphx have had a lasting impact on techno.

Renowned for his refined mixing skills and deep knowledge of the genre, DJ Pete delivers energetic sets that seamlessly blend pure techno and powerful house, with the occasional merging of dubstep.
A Berghain resident since its inception, DJ Pete is a must-see behind the decks.

The inspiration came after his memorable b2b set with Esmé in March, which solidified our admiration for him both as a DJ and a friend. Now, with April onboard, he'll play a key role in shaping our lineups, bringing his unique vision through handpicked b2b performances and showcasing a diverse range of emerging artists.
