To celebrate England's run to the Final of the Euros, It's the last of our competitions before Q School is due to start, and this is a big one!

At the end of the week, 3️⃣ lucky winners will receive FREE ENTRY into Q School - a prize worth over £1,000! Winners will be selected at random, and there is no limit to the number of times you can enter. The winners will all come from the same comment (i.e. the person who tags the 2 people, and the 2 people tagged).

128 amateur players will advance from the Regional Q School events across the UK and compete on the World Pool Tour, which carries a guaranteed £250,000 prize fund. The tour is only open to non-professional players.

🎱🔥 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗣𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗕𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗡-𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗘 🔥🎱

Our ambition has always been to provide top-level events for players to elevate the sport to new levels. With our clear and never-before-seen structure for 8 Ball Pool, we believe that we offer far more than any other organisations, who have over-promised and failed to deliver time and time again.

The structure of any sport should be rewarding for all involved at a cost that is both fair and reasonable. The average cost per event based on a player qualifying from Q School and playing on the WPT for 2 years is just £85.00.

An entire top-down structure - something that no other organisation offers - was announced with our 6 core elements, comprising of:
- The World Pool Tour
- The World Pool Women's Tour
- World Pool Q School
- The WPL Amateur Pool Championships
- The WPL Challenge Tour
- The WPL Developmental Tour

We believe that the "Elite" players have enough opportunities to explore, and while there are "Amateur" event offerings, these tend to filter the prize money to the top levels, or provide a safe passage through earlier rounds and we all agree that in order to push the sport forward, we need to take a step back.

Therefore, effective immediately, the World Pool Q School series in 2021 and 2022 will be open 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗬 to any player who is 𝗡𝗢𝗧:
- An IPA Professional, or
- A UPG Pro Series player.
Any player who falls into these categories has been contacted, refunded and removed from WPL events going forward.

Additionally, players who enter WPL events will not be banned from participating in other events, subject to the above criteria.

𝗪𝗣𝗟 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗽:
"Through this new approach, we firmly believe that we can take the sport to new levels over the next 2-3 years, uncovering some of the best talent to build a future around. Within 5 years, we will have at least a dozen players earning a living from the sport along with some of the best people behind the scenes employed by the company.

Q SCHOOL 2021 UPDATE

It is with regret that after careful consideration, World Pool Ltd is today announcing the postponement of all 2021 Q School events that were due to take place prior to 16th May 2021.

Due to the recent developments surrounding the pandemic and extensions to current restrictions as set out by the UK Government, the proposed schedule of events cannot proceed. Any restrictions on numbers and the associated 2 metre social distancing rules are major barriers to the viability of these events proceeding, and the likelihood that licensed premises may not reopen until May 2021 adds credence to this decision.

Our main priority is to ensure the health and wellbeing of each and every player, staff member at each venue, and any WPL connected staff.

Despite this postponement, World Pool Ltd is committed to ensuring that the Regional Q School events can proceed to the new schedule and the Regional Directors are working on their respective schedules with a view to releasing the revised dates shortly.

This postponement also enables us to support those players who have already entered and those who wish to enter as we will be extending the entry deadline until 2nd May 2021. Any player who has entered can rest assured that any fees paid to date are 100% secure and likewise any further entries also have this guarantee.

The last year has been a challenge for us all and we are very thankful for your continued support. Our team is working hard behind the scenes to ensure that once we are in a position to hit the ground running, we can do just that.

2020 has been one of the most challenging times for many people both at home and around the world.

We have all had tough times, some of us have lost people close to us, and many people's lives have been cut short.

We are delighted to announce that World Pool Ltd and Onboard Sportswear Ltd have agreed terms on a 4-year contract effective as of 1st December 2020, that will run until 30th November 2024. This agreement will see Onboard Sportswear as the exclusive supplier to WPL for the provision of shirts,
jackets and other clothing for players during the 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons.

REGIONAL DIRECTOR SPOTLIGHT

It's been a hectic few days at World Pool HQ, but let's now head North to Scotland...with the RD for Scotland West - Vincent Bimendi.

Vincent has played for Scotland B teams for over a decade having won various European Championships and Nations Cup events.

Vincent is a highly regarded Tournament Director who has been involved in running the West of Scotland Pool Tour. He is also involved in the running of the Cyclop Scottish 9 Ball Tour along with streaming of the events he is involved with.

In 2019 he finished Runner-Up in the West of Scotland Grand Final (BB), and in February 2020 he won the second event on the Scottish 9 Ball Tour.

Heading back along the South of England, next up we have Karl Page, RD for England South Central.

Karl, based in Swindon, has been on the pool scene for around 4 years. In that time he has racked up some impressive results.

In 2019 he finished 2nd in the County and National County statistics, and he has delivered some impressive results.

Karl has run numerous events at the 147 Sports club in Swindon under his brand – PSP Promotions – and has recently begun streaming under Pint Size Streaming.

The England South Central Region covers Hampshire & IOW, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Moving back into England we have the RD for England East - Jay Deverell.

Jay has been in and around the “pool scene” for nearly 20 years. In that time, he has gained over 10 years’ experience working in the snooker and pool club trade.

Jay has created and run many tournaments, competitions and leagues. He also a lot of experience playing the game in various local leagues, entering national events and also playing snooker and pool at county level.

The England East Region covers Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Rutland, Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR SPOTLIGHT

A slight break from the Regional Director Spotlight.

Next up is the WPL Assistant Director - Donna Evans.

For those of you who don't know Donna, she is originally from Surrey, and started playing Pool for Surrey County at 22 years old and has played at International level, representing England at both World Rules and Blackball and currently represents Wales, her Grandmother’s country of birth, at World Rules.

Donna is a qualified Referee having passed both World Rules and two Blackball examinations. She has been present on the pool scene for a long time and has appeared as a Referee on Freesports, and regularly officiates challenge matches that are Live Streamed.

Donna has run successful pool tours and helped to arrange many events for both herself and other establishments and groups.

In the space of a few days, Donna has been inundated with messages and notifications regarding her new role with World Pool, and her keen eye for detail further cements the decision behind bringing her into the team.

REGIONAL DIRECTOR SPOTLIGHT

Next up is the RD for England South East - Paul Wensley.

Paul has been involved in multiple disciplines of cuesports. In Snooker, he has been Sussex County Singles Runner-Up and amassed a high break of 143. In American 9-ball, he played on the UK Tour between 1996 and 1999, reaching a rank of 17th in the country. In English Pool, he has won many local titles, played interleague, played for Sussex county and has won back-to-back Open Singles titles and the Region 7 Open Singles title. He has also had England trials.

The England South East Region covers Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Greater London and Hertfordshire.
