For many of us, that doesn’t have someone to be romantic with, Valentines day isn’t something we look forward to. The pink, hearts, flowers and all the other stuff that the grid is full of these days, can be too much even if you do. We wanted to do something different. Something fun that all can join. With or without a partner.
So, on Valentines day, February 14, we are doing a Traffic Light Party at Gimle.
According to allmighty google “A traffic light party is a party at which guests wear different colors indicating their relationship-seeking status. While they may be held anytime, anywhere; they are commonly held around Valentine’s Day”
The basic idea of the party is that each guest selects a glow stick in a color that best suits their status. Party guests can also arrive wearing the appropriate color. The color green means that one is single and looking for a relationship. Red means that one is in a relationship, or not looking for one. Yellow may mean “unsure” or “maybe,” or “I’m dating but usnure how it will end”
The color codes derive from the traffic light signal colors indicating red for stop, yellow for caution/slow down, and green for go.
OBS!!!
Since we are NOT a matchmaking venue we do this for fun! If you are wearing green it doesn’t mean you are open for a relationship this evening! First and foremost it’s about talking to people you never talk to at other times. Maybe you have wanted to but haven’t had the guts. Now is your chance. Cause you are told to 🙂
To make it easier to start a conversation there is a card with speed dating questions you can grab. I promise it will be a lot of laughs!
Of course the green ones can talk to the other colors too, and vice versa. But the speed dating is for the greens.
Apart from that it will be a usual party with music, fun and beer.
So dress in an appropriate color or grab a glowing stick when you arrive. And remember!! This is for fun and a way to make us talk to each other. Worst thing that could happen is that you get a new friend :)
