Studio Desert Honey

oh hello friends, I’m very sorry to have to come back from my unannounced instagram hiatus with such news but after much thought, I’ve decided to close Studio Desert Honey for the foreseeable future. It could be a few months, it could be a year, it could be forever - your guess is a good as mine.

Studio Desert Honey has been my sweet baby for over a year now and I love the community we’ve created over here to bits. I can say without a doubt that this little flower shop helped keep me creative and sane in the latter part of covid. It gave me something to look forward to in moving back home to London - a ‘stepping stone’ should I say.

I am now working a full time job that I love and an additional part time job soon that I’m really excited about. The world is thawing, growing and blooming - slowly, and I’m searching for the space and freedom to travel, move, design and just *be* without relying on my creativity to pay my bills. I hope this makes sense. Its not you, it’s me ;—)

We should talk about you for a second though ….. y’all …. studio desert honey would be nothing without ya. I am so, so, so appreciative of every order, follow, email, message I’ve received along the way. I’ve loved sharing this space with you guys and working with the loveliest business pals over the last year and a bit.

All this being said, I have a studio full of flowers that need to find their forever homes…. literally forever because they’re everlasting flowers. Ha. I’m going to spend the next week or two creating some final flower magic to put on my website in one last drop. I’ll be turning off the website at the end of the month for good - or for a few months/years, again, I don’t know.

I know breakups are hard but I hope we can stay friends!! This account will always be here for you to look at …. If you want? I don’t know. Anyways, toodleooo for now. I’ll let you know when it’s time for my final flower final offerings.

LET’S CHAT:

I’m a summer gal. I don’t thrive creatively in the dreary, cold. I’ve been feeling pressure from the instagram algorithm to be posting frequently to stay “relevant” in people’s feeds but if i’m not creating, there’s nothing to post! As the weather gets warmer, my flowers start to grow and I get my daily vitamin D again, you will see more flowers, fresh and dried all over your feed and on the site. Until then, I’ll be rolling with the creativity tides as I have been, and designing for the website when I feel the creative urge 🌷

There’s also been a shift in the business over the last few months towards working with retail partners! I’ve been spending a lot of my time designing arrangements for shops across Ontario ... and i’m THRILLED about it. It’s so interesting to see how this business shifts and grows with me, heads down new pathways, tries new things. It’s all very fun and welcomed 💥

I’d also like to discuss valentine’s day! I will not be offering fresh flowers, or specific valentines arrangements this year. My custom dried arrangements are open, per usual, so if you have something special in mind please reach out! I’ll also have my flowers in one or two shops (TBA) in London for grab + go flower pickup ❤️

FINALLY! Studio Desert Honey’s first birthday is on February 1st! I’ve been working with .rssdesign on some super cutie funky fun goodness and I can’t wait to share. I’ll probably do a little giveaway as well 💐
