We are honoured to have Mr. Joshua George as our event speaker.

Mr. Joshua is a trainee counselor at the Malaysian Mental Health Association (MMHA) and a student pursuing Master of Professional Counselling at Monash University, Malaysia. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Christ University, Bangalore, India, in 2014 and spent the next 5 years as an academic writer and features writer before switching to a career in counseling.

His passion for mental health and social service has led him to accrue volunteering experiences with diverse communities, including children with special needs, at-risk teenagers, HIV/AIDS patients, disaster survivors, and sexual and gender minorities. In addition to offering counseling services at MMHA, Joshua is currently engaged in research, advocacy, and mental health support for marginalized communities.

Understanding the major types of anxiety 👇
Generalised Anxiety Disorder :
You feel excessive, unrealistic worry and tension with little or no reason.
Social Anxiety Disorder :
Also called social phobia, this is when you feel overwhelming worry and self-consciousness about everyday social situations. You obsessively worry about others judging you or being embarrassed or ridiculed.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder :
OCD is an anxiety disorder characterized by uncontrollable, unwanted thoughts and ritualized, repetitive behaviors you feel compelled to perform
Panic Disorder :
You feel sudden, intense fear that brings on a panic attack. During a panic attack you may break out in a sweat, have chest pain, and have a pounding heartbeat (palpitations). Sometimes you may feel like you’re choking or having a heart attack.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder :
PTSD is a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying event either experiencing it or witnessing it.
