Hey everyone! Hope you guys have been doing well. Recently we were on a roll announcing all of our guest speakers for our upcoming event. If you guys have not seen it, please feel free to refer to our previous posts for more information!

Guest Speaker #4 Dao Van Ha

Ms. Dao Van Ha is a Digital Project Manager from Supernova. She entered into the
professional field as an Education Intern at Sunrise Vietnam. She also worked as a Project
Manager – Customer Service Executive at Wsoftpro. As a mindful and detail-oriented individual, she will be sharing about e-commerce and her experience in applying for jobs. Be present and get ready to ask questions!

Guest Speaker #5 Thai An Pham

Ms. Thai An Pham is working at RGF International Recruitment as a Lead Analyst. During her days as a student at James Cook University, Singapore, she was the president of Vietnamese Community and also volunteered as a Peer Tutor. Her professional experience includes – HR Executive at International Skill Development JSC, Intern at Ally Media Pte Ltd, Assistant directress at Workplayz Montessori, and Vice President at Vietnamese Youth Alliance in Singapore (VNYA). Like our previous speakers, she is also not new to the workforce, so be prepared to gain helpful insights from her!

Spare us some time and we promise you’ll get a lot to learn from our guest speakers. There

Guest Speaker #1 Lydia Ong

Ms. Ong is a Manager of Student Careers at James Cook University, Singapore. She has also worked as an Executive of Campus Activities at James Cook University, Singapore. Her past experience includes her positions as Youth Coaching at Youth Sports Institute, Education Program Coordinator at INSEAD and Internship at SAFRA National Service Association.
So, what can she deliver? Of course, she will be talking about her experience as an intern and full-time employee in different fields of jobs. Our audience can gain insights from her regarding how to look for a job during this pandemic and postgraduate job application requirements.

Guest Speaker #2 Mavarick Chun

Mr. Chun is a Consulting Manager at GEP worldwide. Previously, he has worked as a
Consultant for Supply Chain & Network Operation at Deloitte Consulting, moreover, as a Process Engineer at Air Liquide.
What can we learn from him? Innovative business solutions, strategy and planning methods as well as his professional experience will be delivered by Mr. Chun. Our participants can learn from him and gain understanding on how to prepare ourselves to enter the workforce.

Guest Speaker #3 Nicholas Tran

Mr. Nicholas Tran is an Associate, Wholesale Banking (Internship) at Emirates NBD. He has
recently graduated from James Cook University, Singapore with Bachelor of Business Administration (BAA, Accounting and Finance).
As a fresh graduate who has successfully landed a place in a professional field, he will focus on sharing valuable advice for us to get a job and will discuss especially about financial and risk management. Participants who are still learning at universities or those who have just graduated will find it helpful to meet Mr. Tran.

As you guys have known, our event will be held on Zoom. So what is Zoom and how does it work?
Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing service, available in both website and app, providing a platform for people to virtually meet with others - both by video and audio, all while conducting live chats - and it also lets you record those sessions to view later. Zoom meeting can host approximately 100 people at once, but if the person or organization want to increase the number of people joining, they can pay extra.
Zoom has some awesome features:
1. One-on-one meetings: Host unlimited one-on-one meetings even with the free plan.
2. Group video conferences: Host up to 500 participants (if you purchase the "large meeting" add-on). The free plan, however, allows you to host video conferences of up to 40 minutes and up to 100 participants.
3. Screen sharing: Meet one-on-one or with large groups and share your screen with them so they can see what you see.
4. Recording: You can record your meetings or events too.

The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered one of the worst jobs crises since the Great Depression. There is a real danger that the crisis will increase poverty and widen inequalities, with the impact felt for years to come. Around the world in 2020, youth employment dropped by 8.7%. For adults the fall in employment was less severe, registering at 3.7%. This difference illustrates the extent of the pandemic’s economic consequences for younger people.
The disruption caused by Covid-19 meant many businesses couldn’t operate in the usual way. Many of their employees couldn’t go to work and customers couldn’t buy their products or services. Some businesses had to cut costs by furloughing their employees or letting them go. They simply could not carry on running their business without an income. As a result, many people are unable to get jobs, especially graduated university student.
So welcome to join our event and discuss how to solve the problem of Covid-19 affecting the opportunities of jobs.
