Last month Carlie and Sean officially became husband and wife in a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends. We celebrated their love, shared their beautiful journey, and laughed at their fun stories (like Sean’s infamous “doggy shirt” and Carlie’s honest first impressions). We also took a moment to honor the memory of loved ones who couldn’t be here but are always in their hearts. It was a day full of love, laughter, and special moments that will be cherished forever. I had the joy of celebrating the incredible love between my nephew Lachlan and his beautiful bride, Emma.
Their story began in 2018 on the set of Aladdin—Lachlan, the nervous auditionee, and Emma, the talented musical director whose voice had already captured his heart. 🧞‍♂️💫 Lachlan may not be a born dancer (a fact he’d be the first to admit!), but he certainly knows how to steal the show with his charm.

The day was overflowing with special moments, but none of us held back the tears when their little son, Hudson, walked down the aisle with Emma’s mum, or when Emma entered with her dad by her side. 💍❤️ The vows they exchanged were as heartfelt as they come, a true testament to the bond they’ve built over the years.

Their bridal party? An amazing crew—talented, fun, and there every step of the way to make the day unforgettable. 🎉 We danced and celebrated hard into the night, creating memories that we’ll all cherish forever. It was truly the best day ever. 🥂💖

Last week was oh so special…. I married my friend’s little sister. 🥹 This is a friend I have known for let’s just say over 20 years (because I don’t want to say exactly how old we are) but I worked with her at the beginning of my career at ecareer. Jinsiu!!!! The bride Jenny, I met when she was a little girl, and I took my cousin Danielle along as my roadie. So let’s just say this was a family affair!!! What a beautiful day. Sobbed like a baby throughout the whole thing haha

Winter has been quiet for weddings, but I’ve had the absolute pleasure of marrying a few gorgeous couples lately in the comfort of their home, for a low fuss legals only ceremony.

Bronte and Dustin have been busy buying a home and starting their life but they still wanted to get hitched! So we did at Dustin’s family home. It was short and sweet but meaningful and a reminder that weddings don’t need to be a big event. As long as you have each other that’s all that matters 🫶🏼

Bronty and Matt’s love story began on a rugby field in September 2019, where Bronty, a new player, met Matt, her coach. Initially intimidated by Matt’s big stature and tattoos, Bronty quickly discovered his warm and welcoming personality. Their bond grew over shared interests, including their beloved West Tigers, horror movies, and fishing. After moving in together in December 2020, they added Toby to their family of dogs in October 2022. Matt proposed to Bronty in December 2022 with a humorous twist, involving a bird and some prawns. Through laughter, mutual support, and overcoming challenges, they built a life together filled with love and joy, culminating in their decision to marry and commit to a lifetime of happiness. We could all well and truly feel the love on their wedding day - what a special bond the two of you share.

Hey 👋 I hope you’re all keeping warm in this cool winter weather! It might be a quiet time for weddings but I have been very busy meeting with beautiful couples in preparation for the next wedding season which is just around the corner! I have also been busy getting up to speed with my new weekday job which I have been so excited to start. It’s a perm part time gig so I will still have time for weddings and funerals. Life is good! ❤️

Em and Ryan, the couple who are so attractive they look like they walked straight off the run way. As a celebrant of more, shall we say, compact stature, standing next to these two felt like I needed a ladder just to maintain eye contact! Their love story began in Newcastle, the land where good looks and good times collide. Fate, with a little help from their mutual friends, orchestrated their meeting at The Hotel Delany.

Em wasn’t looking for anything serious, and Ryan was just in town for a weekend celebration, but destiny had other plans. When Em first met Ryan, she was captivated by his calming presence and genuine interest in her. And let’s be honest, his tall, tanned, and handsome appearance didn’t hurt either – he was exactly her type! Ryan, on the other hand, was immediately enchanted by Em’s stunning beauty and the infectious positive energy she radiated. As they got to know each other, Ryan was further charmed by Em’s caring and compassionate nature.

Their journey led them to a sunny autumn day where they tied the knot, and let me tell you, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. I hear they kicked on with quite the wild party after I left! What a fun couple and group of guests!

About me

My decision to become a celebrant was driven by the fact that I strongly believe in the institution of marriage. I have always loved weddings the way that the ceremony brings people together to celebrate love.

The decision to become authorised to marry people myself was cemented after my own wedding last year, in which my good friend (and well known Wollongong celebrant Jamie Borg) performed the ceremony. Jamie did such a great job and made me think ‘If I can bring half as much joy to couple’s as Jamie and my wedding did, I can spend the rest of my working days enjoying complete job satisfaction and a heart that is always smiling.’ Wow, what a special thought.

I believe that love is love, and I am thrilled to be able to marry anyone of any gender.

If you are getting married, I would be honoured to play the pivotal part of a celebrant in your day and guide you both through the legal aspects of making this commitment.
