Got a wonderful opportunity to get out and hit a few of my favorite places yesterday. To be honest it was the first time I had really explored since we had the windstorm last week.

I found this wonderful little thicket of Yarrow(at least I think its Yarrow🤣), waiting on spring like some of the rest of us. HA!

As some of you may have heard or even experienced. We had quite the windstorm last week here in the north end of the Gem State. At its peak I think I saw that there were and estimated 49k people without power. YOWZER!!! We were without power for 5 mornings and 4 nights. We had some cold nights with warm fires and wonderful friends. I still missed my power though 😂🤣😅

I dont know if they will end up seeing our post here, but we here at CVD want to celebrate all the Linemen, Sawyers and dedicated crews and community for all the hard work, long hours and readiness to get back up and do it again, or just plain not stop whilst losing their weekend. YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!! We are incredibly grateful for your hard work and dedication.

Heres a few shots I was able to snap during the taking down of a hazard tree at the peak of the storm. This brave fella, spiked all the way up that little trunk to make sure the homes around were safe from yet another falling tree. We watched him bounce 15 feet in either direction while trying to top and cut this tree. My knees were weak standing on the pavement. I dont know how these guys do it but Im so very grateful they do.

Good Morning everyone and happy Friday! We made it! Its time to prepare for our weekend adventures and excursions. My other family.

I have always loved helicopters from the first moment I sat in a Cobra helicopter at a local air show when I was only maybe 8 years old. I continue into adulthood fascinated by these machines and the men that pilot them. Wildland fire pilots are some of the best in the world. Im grateful for each and every one of them.

Everyone loves cutting day.
This was shot awhile back while visiting my folks one spring after my stepdad finished 2nd cutting on the fields. I always loved how the little cow birds would just attack the grass for any bugs or seed they could muster from the piles. Hard little workers they are!

As I post the last of the pictures processed in 2020, I look back on this last half year and am extremely grateful. To my environment that allows me such bountiful opportunity to capture life as it happens, to all of you and your friends and families that have allowed my perspective on life into your homes. You have all made me feel extremely blessed and inspired. I am excited at what 2021 has in store for all of us and I plan to capture as much of it as possible. I hope you all enjoy it!
