it’s been a minute since we made this special dish! Sri Lankan fish curry is 🔥 🔥🔥
Sri Lanka being an island has a plethora of fresh fish always on deck. I have fond memories going to the fish market with my grandma, uncles or cousins.

Featured here is my favorite fish - Seer fish or Kingfish which is a type of mackerel that is found in abundance in the Indian Ocean. Tastes delicious fried or in a spicy curry 🤤😋 A lil bit tangy, a whole lot spicy — it’s giving tropical 🏝️ vibes and just the perfect dish to kick off a long weekend.

Last Thursday — Sri Lankan cocktail snacks at the NSC Global Tastes event! 🇱🇰 Was so inspiring to see so many chefs representing their cuisine and culture from all over the world!

Even had a lil reunion with some Kampar Kitchen chefs! 🇲🇾🇻🇳🇨🇴

Thank you NSC for all you do for this immigrant rich city and for having Sri’s Company at this wonderful event — can’t wait for next year! 🍻

What a cool experience to be a part of PhillyPheast at The Pyramid Club! I was HONORED to rep my Sri Lankan flavors and share with C-CAP students how to make 🇱🇰 Beef Cutlets, something that is very nostalgic to me and reminds me of home🥰

First meal of the year! Thanks to my brother, for lugging it on the ferry from Staten Island to a South Indian restaurant in Manhattan where we had dinner reservations , only for me to then bring it back with me to Philly so I can have my favorite 🇱🇰 rice and curry meal on New Years Day . See, the one thing about us..we will do anything for good food❤️. Happy New Year everyone! And thank you for all your support. May 2023 bring all of you much love, laughter, good health and delicious food! 🎉🎊🍾

Round two of our ISLANDS series represents the flavors and dishes that are near and dear to us. We’re so excited to prepare this meal for you! This four-course meal will be hosted at Two seatings will be available (5:30pm - 7pm and 7:30pm - 9pm).

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve had Goat (Mutton) Curry! Cooked real nice and slow in a secret Sri Lankan spice blend & coconut milk 😈 The mutton is sooo tender the meat fall right off the bone! 🤤

Sri Lanka is facing their largest economic crisis ever. People have been robbed of their basic necessities like food, medications and fuel (both for cooking and transportation). I am disheartened by what is happening back home and would like to do my part to help the Sri Lankan people.

I have identified an organization- Community Meal Share that currently provides meals for people in different areas of the country. I am collecting funds to donate to this organization via gofund me (link below and in bio). Last night, I was provided the opportunity to participate in the “Dish it Up” event collated by - Philly’s leading domestic violence advocate and service provider. It was truly inspiring to hear the stories of 2022 Advocates - Troy and Tommi Vincent and play a small part in raising awareness and funds for this extremely worthy (and much needed) cause. We served 🇱🇰 beef cutlets for the night, hung out with our wonderful friends from , tried some new dishes/desserts and of course ended the evening with a few glasses of delicious sangria. Want to thank my wonderful team and for dishing these bad babies out in record time!

Had a massive craving for Idiyappam (Stringhoppers), so I made a small batch for a friend and me and boy did it make my day! Idiyappam is a Sri Lankan/South Indian dish made of rice flour dough that is squeezed into into thin “noodles” using a press and finally steamed for about 5 minutes. They are traditionally served with a spicy curry or pol (coconut) sambol. They can also be eaten with grated coconut and sugar as a sweet treat 😋 🇱🇰

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy our 5 course tasting menu in partnership with . We prepped and cooked for over 90 people and it was a super fun experience! It was great to meet some new folx and expose them to the food and culture from the beautiful island of 🇱🇰. Special shout to for hosting this dinner and an amazing staff without which this would not be possible . - You guys rock!

First meal as the plane touches down in Colombo - Lamprais. This dish was introduced to Sri Lanka by the Dutch. It loosely translates to “packet” or “lump of rice” and traditionally consists of a 3 meat curry (chicken, pork, beef), rice cooked in the meat stock, wambatu moju (eggplant pickle), seeni sambol (sweet onion relish), ash plantain, shrimp blanchan (paste) and frikadell (meatball). All ingredients are wrapped in a banana leaf and then baked. Essentials of Sri Lankan cooking. Hoping to test this out soon. Stay tuned folks!
